7 am and I already have 1k calories in the tank

Today is going to be a good day.
Going for 100kg x 1, if that fails, my punishment is a full body workout. (oh god I hate doing abs)

An old wrist injury has reemerged to my detriment, when I was in the UK i joined a boxing gym as it was cheap and I actually enjoy boxing, I had an uncle that taught me.

I sprained my wrist whilst sparring and remember having to take nearly a month off to heal, about 2 years back I hurt the same wrist (right hand) also at boxing but on a punching bag hanging in my garage.

Last week tried to go over 100kg on flat bench and messed up my wrist once again but still carried on gymming, think ysterday was the last straw as I cant even move my mouse now to work. :(

think my heavy lifting days are behind me................just as I was seeing serious results.

Sux to read something like that @Hemps

That said, how was your grip on the bar whilst doing the flat bench over 100kg? I personally have weak wrists, and easily can get them hurt by just sleeping wrong! But I haven't hurt them ever on flat bench press, not even when I did my 5x 1 rep 100kg sets, which for me is pretty heavy, though I can't lift that heavy anymore. If your hand is 90 degree to your arm when you flat bench press, expect horrendous pain, hand should be closer to 40 degrees to your arm to do it safe for your wrists.

That said, I think your wrist can heal again, it will just take time, and your will have to (or should) do physio therapy, and probably start low weight when you restart your exercises.

Was using a wide grip outside of shoulder width, yip only rest will help, pity as it's so close to xmas and beach time.

i'll give it 3 days BUT wont go heavy again this year.

A Bad wrist effects everything.

The only reason these things get banned is because people abuse them and die. The same happened with Jack3d.

The same can happen if you drink yourself into a stupor with alcohol.

I used some drugs in the past, didn't exactly abuse them, but I can definitely see how abuse would go far south ... so now I have a bunch of stuff I bought, but will probably not use, as I don't see the need for them, just going on without using them.

@xrapidx and Tinuva, are u guys saying things like roids are acceptable if used conservatively?

I'm saying do what you want, its your body.

Haven't used before - never interested me, but I don't care if someone does for personal gain - obviously using something which is banned in a sport isn't cool. (much like drinking, and then drinking and driving).

With everything, I believe as long as you're not harming anyone - you can do what you want with yourself.

I agree, it is your own choice what you do. Just remember, you are the one that will have to live with the possible consequences of your actions/choices.

Pretty certain, many people use roids in bodybuilding competitions, eg. for looks to physique and not actual strength competitions like powerlifting. In powerlifting they will test you, doubt they do that in body building comps where you just need to look good. In fact, I think if you want to compete in bodybuilding competitions, you will find it is impossible to compete when 99% of the other guys use some sort of roids.

Steroids seem like a short term solution, what happens when you stop using them?

One cycle of something won't kill you. Roids are not death in a syringe. Roids will not make you rage at small things. And what is acceptable is all relative to what you want to archieve.

If you are on a cycle of, say, Sustanon, 95% of your gains will be lost 3 months after the cycle.

Depends on what you do.

Some people just don't have the genetics for it, my wife lifts heavier weights than some of the guys in gym... So I could see why some people would be tempted just from that point of view, others just want to look pretty.
