I think I have golfers elbow  I've tried to rest it for two weeks (is that even long enough?) but no real change, I think having to use a PC all day for work has not really allowed a full day rest at any point (its my right arm which I use for the mouse). Besides going to see a doctor of some kind, is there anything else I can try? I've read that ice will help when I have pain but most times thats at work :/

Ice/heat packs - not just when it hurts, do it daily, three or four times. You can also try an anti-inflammatory.

Goto a physio, they can do some acupuncture if there are knots in the area.

Will start ice packs tonight and aim for one in morning, directly after work, and before bed. Weekends I'll be able to fit one in over lunch too. Do compression sleeves help (thinking to get this)? Applying pressure over my elbow seems to alleviate the pain, but I dont know if I'm fooling myself as to what actually works.

Yeh, I've used those in the past, except I can't keep them on longer than 30min - too tight, and then I sit with another type of pain.

Goto Dischem though, they're about half the price there.

You don't get 5kg of whey...

Either a typo or he was speaking of their mass builder perhaps?

I damnwell hope he is correct though...5kg whey pure at R600...

Where do I order!

For anyone who is interested, Dischem (Fourways) had a bundled special today for Evox 100% whey protein 2kg + 1kg for R550

Something that has been on my mind the last while...proper lifting shoes.

Do you guys have a dedicated pair of lifting shoes or do you just gun it in a pair of runners?

I'm considering getting a pair of proper lifting shoes (inov-8 335's catching my eye at present) for the extra stability on squats and deadlifts. My trainers physically deform when I drive through the heel and this puts my form off. Usually I go barefoot...but taking off shoes and socks etc is a bit of a shlep at times.

So what do you guys use?

I just go barefoot too, might need something when I reach heavier weights but so far haven't had any problems - then again I do stand on foam floor mats.

I believe the latest reebok nanos cater to oly lifting as well as the other crossfit type activities.

Expensive though, around 1.6k iirc.

Sneakers with flat soles, not running shoes.

Google them, they're popular alternative lifting shoes.

Had a rather ****ty gym session - I really don't like the weighs/machines at the Sunningdale VA - not sure why, even the olympic bar feels different.

On the plus size, 7kg down since mid March, no strength loss, I hazard to say I've actually gained a bit of strength, putting a few extra kg's on next week for bench.

Hmm...will have to get another pair then and take both along then. I have a 5km run to gym and back...and norrafooook am I doing that in sneakers.

Running to gym on squat / deadlift days? You must not take those two exercises very seriously? :p

I have a pair like these, just different colours.
