After a leg of the Tour de France.

Whose legs are those? Them blue feet are not looking so good.

Anyone have any experience with MuscleWorx? Popped into the local store to get a water bottle, and the salesman says the product is good (duh). I did notice that the Whey was quite low in carbs, so I don't mind trying it, especially if Nutritech is upping its carbs.

I love MW whey, just a bit difficult to get hold of in JHB
go for it, its great value for money and tastes alright too

What's with you people?!?!?

I had to go rescue this thread from the second page.

Second page of what?

I'm becoming a weak ****, no lifting, just walking and swimming.

Don't know how I managed it but I got the wife to start exercising with me.

I'm sticking to my program for now while she started on the Stronglifts 5x5. It is only a few exercises and only 3 times a week so it won't push her too hard in the beginning. She can up the intensity at her own discretion.

She is doing great after 2 sessions.

I'll just have to sit through some videos on correct form with her. I can't seem to explain or correct her too well.

Building my own power cage.

All cutting and drilling finished and now the welding starts.

Will post pic of final product when finished.

Superset guy

So, tonight at VA Kenilworth I got a bit ticked off at one dude.

<vent>I was doing bench press and half way through my sets I start eyeing the squat rack because after bench press I want to do squats and deadlifts. I notice there's a dude doing deadlifts. Soon after I notice he is also using the bench behind me which is half the length of the gym away from the squat rack. Seems he had both marked with his belongings draped across both squat rack and bench press to keep his place when he wasn't at one or the other. I notice this chased someone else away from the squat rack as the other squat rack was occupied.

So maybe 10 to 15 minutes later I want to use the squat rack but he is still using both. I go over to the stretch area where the kettlebells are and try doing goblet squats. My left knee didn't like this so I think screw this and head over to the squat rack. This dude is still hogging both machines. I wait there and ask him how long is he going to be. 10 minutes he says, and puts his earphones back in and proceeds to do some more deadlifts. I sit down, and wait. He goes back to bench and then soon after sees I am waiting around at the squat rack. He comes back and says he is doing supersets. Now I have already waited around 15 minutes or so trying to find alternatives. I just want to do my workout and get out of there. I ask him, "Supersets?" He says, "Yes supersets, Google that sh|t!". I then follow him back to the bench press and as now he is really getting my goat and so I get in his face. Heads are starting to turn at a situation that is getting heated. I storm off to go complain to management that he is hogging the workstations etc...

They chat to him, he says he didn't mean it to come out like it did but he was out of breath and really tired. They tell him for now he can proceed but next time he should not hog the workstations like that. He finishes his workout and wants to apologise, they usher us to the office because I am still ticked off and raising my voice. He says he is in marketing and that's how he talks to people, he didn't mean any harm. He hopes to see me there again and maybe we can work out together. I tell him thanks but no thanks and that I'm out of there.

Oh then to to top it off he was leaving same time as me and walking 20 to 30m behind me and parking not too far from me. I kept an eye on him in case he wanted to beat me up or something, despite his apparent apologetic demeanour. I probably weigh 20-25kg less than him.</vent>

In retrospect I could have handled the situation better but life has been stressful of late and this guys behaviour was the last straw.

TLDR; A guy was hogging squat rack and bench press for like 30-45 minutes, preventing me from using said squat rack. We exchanged words, management tried to handle the situation, I was still angry so I left the gym.

Why not just ask if you can go between his sets? I always do that if a machine/rack I want is occupied.

The last place I would want to throw a hissy fit in is a gym. Everyone is going to think you are a gigantic turbopussy.

Not so easy to share a squat rack and re-rack the weights in time as to not impact his "supersets". If the weight I wanted to pull was close to his then sure, it might have been an option. He was hogging the equipment for a long time. He also almost prevented me from using bench press at the start of my workout, as the other bench press had been taken while I was warming up on the rowing machine.

But point taken, I handled it badly :o

I have not followed or read many posts in this thread, so forgive me if this channel has been linked before. I found it while trawling through youtube. The guy often explain good technique, or which exercises you shouldn't do, even though they are often popular in the gym. Good info and presentation I would say. Channel name is Athlean-X

Watched the 5 exercises you should not do and 4 of them are my favorites

He mentioned leg extensions are bad for you, I see his point, now I need to find a replacement.

Gymming from home so I have the space and weights but not the snazzy machines, LUNGES?
