If you with discovery then use the screening benefit to get tested at their cost? Do the Vitality test at Dischem or Clicks where there is a nurse on duty.

I don't know if you should be checking your own blood pressure if you don't have experience in doing so already ?

No experience required, it's very very straight forward. The key is to get to know your normal limits and keep checking. The good thing about owning the machine is that you can test 10 times a day if you like, or just on off days - instead of running to Dischem every time you want to be sure all is well. It's very convenient and IMO good to know these things about yourself.

Morning guys, long time since I posted here, is there a place to get Nutritech whey cheaper than Chrome shop in Cape Town?

Into my 3rd week of 5x5, and I've picked up 2kg (85.4kg when I weighed in this morning). Haven't measured body fat, but I doubt the weight gained is fat, anyway, as since I started, I've eaten a lot cleaner/healthier than I ever have (effectively cut out most simple sugars and white carbs).

Not sure if it's my imagination, but I feel like the creatine is starting to work for me, too: the weights aren't as heavy, and I feel like I can push further than the 5x5 regiment. Might be my imagination, though, or my strength may actually just have increased rapidly? Still can't lose this ****ing belly fat though!

Well, you have to decide on a goal and eat and train accordingly. Can't gain heaps of muscle and lose body fat at the same time, conventional wisdom says.

Yeah, it's down to calorie deficits. Still working on crunching all the numbers.

... go to clicks and get one and take it to their prescription counter if you're on medical aid - Discovery pays for them depending on what package you're on. Same for blood glucose monitor and ketone monitor. I have all 3 now :)

What's your diet like at the mo? Are you drinking enough water? That's often one of the culprits - too much coffee and not enough water.

Are you perhaps sensitive to Caffeine? Do you get headaches by 11am if you don't have that first morning cup?

Can you remember what you paid for your monitor?

Quickly checked the Dischem website and they only have one for R1000. Is that the going rate or are there cheaper ones?

Well, I have the same dilemna. I think Tinuva and the likes have mentioned that body recomposition is entirely possible.

If I am not mistaken, this would be eating for a certain body weight and then training accordingly to build muscle and lose fat at the same time, albeit at a slower pace. Beginners can do this more easily than an intermediate or advanced 'bodybuilder'.

No. I actually haven't gone enough to the gym lately, but I go to VA Wembley if I go during lunch, or VA Tygervalley/Durbanville. Went to VA N1city at one point.

Ok. Just saw a small frame coloured guy who looked like he could flip a small car and thought: "What are the chances?"

Heh there are plenty smaller guys than me, that are super strong. Sadly you can't really judge a person's physical strength by just looking at their physique.

+1

I have trained and trained with some noticeably physically smaller guys who was like little nuclear reactors.

VA KC is too full lately, 19h30 to 21h00. Struggling to get through a workout without having to substitute or skips certain exercises :(

Regarding bench press form, if you don't do it right then it becomes a glorified triceps & shoulder exercise right? What then happens, does one then get massive arms from this poor form?

Whoa!
The blood glucose monitor was around R350 (Discovery paid) and the BP monitor was more - let me find them quick and send pics of what we have. They did have a special on with it though (I think I got that from Clicks).
