I've put on about 5kg in a month while also beating my PRs on squat and DL. Milk for the win.

Finishing my Evox now, I have changed mostly to ON whey but have also changed my routine so think it's mostly the routine change that has got me seeing results.
But for budget conscience people Evox is fine.

Biokineticist advised me to stay away from pure protein products as they would make me too lean; need to bulk on something with a good ratio of carbs to protein - preferably more carbs than protein. So I'm using a meal replacement instead of a protein shake, and in addition to this, most of my food intake is complex carbs and fruit and veg of course.

You won't build easily by restricting carbs.

Biogen

/end thread.

The iso whey can't be that bad :D I just needed something else to give me protein, eating just tuna and eggs gets boring . I will go for evox next.

Anyone try springbokpharmacy? They do free deliveries in Sandton, Meyeton. Vaal triangle etc

I know this now yes.

All those years of taking protein have resulted a lean build - body fat percentage was at 5% at one stage - and a raging metabolism which severely restricted any weight-gain; I really messed up.

But, on the flipside, body fat percentage is up to 11% :) and I'm slowly but surely packing on the weight.

Thing is, can you believe what they plastered on the label, re contents?

Think I've heard of them before, nothing bad.

You guys seem to really miss the point. I don't care about putting on fat, actually, I AIM to put on fat.

Wish I could go on a kfc and steers diet :D

I am just happy that I am losing weight and hopefully not much muscle.

I took my whole training up a notch by starting on creatine this week. So, for the start of this week, it was a teaspoon of creatine in my favourite juice, 4-5 times a day; this is for the creatine to build up in your system. After the first week, it's a dose before and a dose after your workout.

Feeling pretty strong, I maxed out my workouts this week, and boy oh boy. Yes, I was in pain afterwards but the recovery? The recovery was like I've never experienced before and that was all because of using the creatine properly. Combined with the meal replacement supplements I've been taking - the equivalent of 5kg of food a day - I managed to gain 2kg this week; my normal gain is like 0.5kg.
I am glad to hear it works for some people. For me however, I tried it for a solid 3 months, and I couldn't see any gains from Creatine in either weight gained or helping me with PRs or recovery. So I guess I did something wrong or my body are one of the few that generates enough creatine.

What I can say is, I have tried other things, food diets combined with some stronger supplements and that definitely worked wonders every time I made a good change, I noticed positive changes.

Biogen GABA

Are the Biogen GABA caps a good form of GABA to take? Primary reason for me buying it would be for sound sleep? Is it safe?

Gamma Aminobutyric Acid is a gamma neurotransmitter that plays a significant role in hypothalamic-pituitary function affecting all hormonal functions of the body including Growth Hormone. Gamma Aminobutyric acid stimulates the production of Growth Hormone (GH). GABA supplements are helpful for any active individuals, bodybuilders and athletes. GH has been found to facilitate the metabolism of fats in the body resulting in startling fat loss. GH is widely known for its powerful muscle building effects.

Uses and benefits
• Reduces muscle tension
• Promotes relaxation
• Enhances quality of sleep

GH tends to decrease with age, making it harder to lose fat and build muscle. This is one reason why GABA increases the deepness and quality of sleep and obtaining more rest can lead to greater energy throughout the day. All of these benefits together translate to an overall increase in wellness, youthfulness and a definite rise in energy.

This makes no sense to me ... why put on fat when u can put on lean muscle instead? If your body fat is low enough for a six pack that's not a bad problem to have. And even if you are super skinny, putting on fat will surely just give you a boep?

I need some ideas for exercises to do the next few weeks that doesn't involve one's core muscles. I know it sounds crazy but I hurt a muscle/s and after a week of not really going to gym it still doesn't feel any better.

So I will be visiting a physio therapist this week, already got a list I can call on Monday morning to see where I can get a spot.

Looking at this pic:

I think its between the serratus anterior and/or external oblique on my right side that got torn while doing some DIY work at home.

Going to hate not doing squats and do stuff like leg presses ect instead, but I need/want to do at least something while those muscles repair, but the requirement is I need stuff that won't activate them. So it will probably end up being mostly machines, though I guess no matter how I look at it, chest will probably not happen.

Any ideas for exercises?
