Going to be funny that despite all these tactical voting sites showing up, it will have almost no effect on the result:

Tactical voting is for the Twittersphere, not for the millions who actually vote :sneaky:
That's because of the schitty FPTP system. Makes it almost impossible for a non mainstream party to make inroads.

Typically between 50 and 65% of all votes don't actually count. So in essence, it's all tactical voting

That's true...but I also see how flawed PR is in South Africa where who gets into parliament is decided by the party rather than the voters (as in, the higher ranking you are given on the party list). I quite like the mixed systems used in some countries :

In theory FPTP should create greater accountability but vast majority vote for party rather than their MP as we will see in a certain constituency known as Beaconsfield...

Keith Vaz was their MP for a while. I think he got chucked because of hookers and blow. True story

I remember that, but I've had a look at the new Labour candidate and while she appeared to be an outsider from London she is actually from your in-laws town.

With the election tomorrow, I'm glad this Brexit shyte show will end soon. Borris to win Majority and get this shyte done.

It's getting quite close to hung parliament territory though, although this model isn't perfect. In 2017 it underestimated the Tories and overestimated Labour. They also overestimated the Scottish nationalist clowns by a fair degree.

So you are happy with polls now if they vaguely support your world view?

Means people post polls when it supports their views, and denounce polls when it doesn't.
No people denounce BS polls when their methodology has been fixed to support a certain view.

There's a difference.

If polls meant anything, this thread wouldn't even exist because most polls indicated there wasn't a snow ball's chance in hell of the country voting Leave. And that was right up until the first results started trickling in.

In practice that doesn't mean much. Not when even in the UK the party can instruct members how to vote. First past the post tends to be favoured by the larger political parties because it gives them an unfair advantage. In South Africa you can see the benefit of proportional representation.

I must of course assume that all Leave supporters are opposed to first past the post because of the manner in which it denies people representation in government. They are after all all about the demos.

You are voting for the party regardless. That's why there is a party manifesto.
