Around the 80km mark is my baseline for ev range for a Phev for it to make sense to me.

Why not buy a Nissan leaf off webuycars for R150k that also does 80km?
All you have to do it replace the battery for R150k and increase range to 300km. The only spanner is the plug type (not ccs), too hammered to remember what its called.

For 80kms range yes. For a full ev it needs to be more, probably around 450 comfortably.

The i3 gets all the limelight locally in the electric city car sphere but Nissan was out the blocks a number of years before BMW.
