Isn't that just a (very expensive) ceramic bong?So does anyone own a bongalong?, or anyone ever smoked from a bongalong?
I have had mine now for about 2 years, would like to know how it compares to other bongs?

I have the Golden Member one. It's awesome. So smooth. So does anyone own a bongalong?, or anyone ever smoked from a bongalong?

I use methylated spirits and coarse salt in mine, together with pipe cleaners and earbuds. Shake the spirits and coarse salt vigorously. The pipe cleaners and earbuds I use to clean the stem and hard-to-reach places inside the ball-portion.How do you guys clean it?, I pour in boiling water and try to shake. But I see its getting lekker dirty.
I have the "potjie kos", normally put it in the freezer about 15min before smoking and it really is smooth. My issue is rather the bowl. I bought the ceramic "downey" they sell but that has proven to be rubbish (amazing the first 3 days). The aluminium one that comes with gets very dirty very fast, the hole is also a little small.
I have had quite a few bongs in my life but all of them came from the flea market. This was the first "non flea market" bong I have owned or used for that matter. So was wondering how it compares to proper expensive bongs, i'm always seeing these long glass bongs that's almost an arms length and normally the bowl pulls out??
But if you guys says the bongalong is still a proper bong I guess I will rather try cleaning this one that buying a new one.
ps. Its not that expensive comparing to proper glass bongs. When you want to put on a custom print it gets expensive, but looks flippen awesome. I would love that Rick and Morty one.
I had to google that as I had no idea what it was. It looks flippen awesome, these are the type of bongs I am referring to when I'm asking how the normal ceramic bongs compare?I have a 3 perc bong from bongalong - not one of the ceramic ones. Absolutely love it!
I have tried bleach and sunlight with no real successI use methylated spirits and coarse salt in mine, together with pipe cleaners and earbuds. Shake the spirits and coarse salt vigorously. The pipe cleaners and earbuds I use to clean the stem and hard-to-reach places inside the ball-portion.
I found it helps if you use something acidic as your bong water, like cranberry juice or similar, to limit the build-up in the ball-portion, which is the hardest to clean, plus it adds nice flavour to the smoke. Dry white or red wine also works lekke.
Regarding Bongs
I buy a liter of acetone from a nailshop(thanks to my wife),cost around R20.
Take a tablespoon or 2 of uncooked rice and shove it in the bong with enough acetone to make it a little less than halfway up the bong(need space for agitation).Close the stem part with your finger and the top with your other hand, and then shake and swirl that thing like crazy.Melts all the crap away and then you can just soak the downstem and clean with earbud or pipe cleaner.Rinse well, leave it to dry.
*Do not do this with plastic bongs, GLASS ONLY*
I reckon if we had something liek this for bongs, it would take the headache out of it

Looking for this:
This worked like a charm. Did not add rice or anything. Just acetone (probably 50ml which I had left). I was shocked to see the amount of filth that came out after a few shakes. But it's sparkling clean like day 1![]()
How does the potjie compare to other bongs that you've owned? I'm looking at expanding my collection and the potjie looks like the perfect fit.
I hate cleaning bongs, I even bought one of those glass joint spiral thingy's but that gets dirty quickly and sometimes can burn you, not lekka holding a piece of hot glass between your fingers and lips.
That's exactly what I have and what I cleaned yesterdayAcetone is pretty rough, requires you to do some propper rinsing to clear it. Ethanol is much better in this regard, but does cost more. Rice helps agitate the gunk inside.
You must check out the bongalong bongs, my favourite. Love my Potjie bong.

The nice thing about it is that it stays clean for pretty long if you only rinse it with very hot water after each use.
So what do most people here prefer, Joints or bongs, and why?
My fav is bongs, its much quicker than joints and I use much less herb. I still have to take about 6 small bowls (which is about the same amount of herb i use in 1 joint), but It still tastes better than joints, less smoke, less smell.
Joints is a different high for me, I normally smoke 2 joints and even then i'm not as stoned as with a bong (baring in mind i'm also using about half the herb in a bong). Joints takes a little longer to kick in, and it also lasts a little longer which is a plus. The down side for me is that joints really taste k@k. It starts okay but after about halfway it really starts tasting bad. It also smells terrible. Till today I still struggle to role a proper joint. Sometimes it comes out nice, other times it look like something a 3 year old made.
Try vaping, i.e. get a device that heats the bud to THC release point without burning the leaf. So smooth & tasty in comparison to burning stuff..So what do most people here prefer, Joints or bongs, and why?
