Guys just a couple of questions regarding the Dynavap M. Do I need to grind the bud before putting it in the cap?
How do I knowno when its finished?

What is the use for the small hole in the device?

Yes you do.
It starts to burn your throat, usually after 3 depending how deep you pull
Uh up to you but you need to get it into the lungs to work.
I forget the name but you block it to draw air directly through the cap (over the weed) then you rock the vap releasing and blocking the hole to relieve the pressure of sucking so you dont pop a vein in your head pulling too hard.

You don’t have to grind your bud, some users on reddit say they get less vapour but better flavour with whole nugs. I grind my bud because I want better extraction and more evenly vaped material.
You can taste once a bowl is done (like burnt popcorn), but once you’re used to the device it’s very easy to figure out how many heating cycles you have left.

I think you can turn the pump on for the bag but if your just inhaling from the new system then the pump isn't needed

Do you make your own or buy? We make our own and we only need about third of a cup for a big pot of food. And we are daily smokers and edibles consumers, so quite high tolerance.

I don't grind because 1) I'm lazy, and 2) I eat the little 'popcorn' nugget afterwards.

I like to hold it tight and suck like a mofo until it gets too hot, then I lift my finger off the hole for a bit to let in some air to cool, then hold it tight again.

There are many ways to use the device... play until you find what works best.

For me it's more of a high feeling (vaping) than a stoned feeling (smoking) if that makes sense.

First do a few practice runs with nothing in the cap to perfect the lighting technique. Trust me you don't want to burn the weed on your first session

Ye, it is quite a bit but a made a boo boo with the oil and not as potent as it should be. Hence the butter backup

I also have a pretty stupid tolerance so I make my stuff quite potent right off the bat. I think my friends are starting to get weary about visiting...

The hole is called the "airport":

Course grind or nugs - slower extraction since heat takes longer to penetrate the material, so less vapour.
Fine grind - faster extraction since material is heated up quicker, more vapour.

Airport closed, more hot air passes through material, tip cools quicker, hot vapour.
Airport open, less hot air passes through material, tip cools slower, cooler vapour.

Thanks guys. Tried it last night but was a bit disappointed but I think it was because I did not perhaps do it correctly. Will try again today but it felt like I was wasting bud. Sometimes vapour would come out but most times not.

I must say I tasted the bud a lot better than a joint and the high was like a type of "functional" high but I would get like one, sometimes 2 puffs from one stack.

I also did not know that you need to heat the cap every time you want to pull otherwise nothing comes out.

I will see how it goes today.

Heat until -> warmup click -> 1 or more drags until -> cooldown click -> heat and repeat

I do this about 5 times, using the little triangle of the Y in Dynavap as a guide to heat the tip. This results in a cooler vape, with not much visible vapour. Heating lower for a warmer vape is too harsh on my lungs. You don't have to see clouds for it to work though, THC vapour is invisible, so lots of clouds does not necessarily mean better extraction.

Also try to not pack it too tightly while you are getting used to how it works, I have mine sometimes half full and still get good results.
