The Capitec banking app is here

Theres no need for sites to get airtime with capitec use the ussd codes I linked :p

But yes they have also saved me quite a lot in bank fees compared to when I was using Absa bank and online purchasing is a plus which Absa never had for savings accounts.

He should take time to read their tariff https://www.capitecbank.co.za/resources/2079_Transact_Flyer_Web.pdf brochure/fee structure. Should have switched to Capitec ages ago. Noticed banking charges aren't clear on monthly statements but when you go into the bank for a print out the fee structure there is different.

They might be last to the table with their app, but glad to see they've brought something usable out.

At the rate at which they do make changes, I reckon we can expect quite a couple of

@Pooky, Not sure if it works on the same principle as the Internet Banking soft token (OTP app), but if it does, you'd need to go in to register your device, link your accounts and get the app via a link. (edit: download the app via app store and register the app in-branch)

I should have also long ago would have saved tons but only started with them last month did not think they were good at first until I read through their website and brochures.

I love the online statements using online banking, quite informative not like with Absa you have to pay for the statements.

Eh not even sure how Absa survives with their prices and services when there is better options available :p.

What I love about Capitec they everywhere in every town you visit doesn't matter how small! Here in the town I am visiting(family), they've 2 banks here always busy - queues and queues of people wanting to bank with them!

Love the convenience that they open until 6 PM unlike other banks that decide to close early and are open on Sundays.

There are always hidden bank fees with the other banks - I see no point on paying R99 per month maintenance fee for unlimited transaction, internet banking etc, way too overpriced.

Consumers don't want to inconvenience themselves to move to another bank. Then you have to notify your employer of new banking details, debit orders etc...

What does one need to do to change a debit order I have with Telkom for adsl to my capitec account, do I just need my ID and the card?

The Capitec branch in PMB is very quiet which is cool no standing in queues ever :D.

Just notify Telkom about your new banking details via telephone or at any Telkom Direct store. The only debit orders I have on my account are for insurance polices(Life, house, etc). I pay with my WoolWorths card (3rd party payments - EasyPay) that way my money works for me :)

oh ok should not be hard then I can always cancel the debit order and do eft instead if its cheaper.

is one able to eft to a special savings account with Absa which has no actual card as its currently taking R500 via debit order from my account?

Always the best feeling when I receive my monthly sms from Capitec telling me that my interest earned was higher than the banking charges for the previous month :D
