Sacrilege?

Had the Amber Ale last night. Unfortunately it was off. Wish liquor stores would learn to take proper care of craft if they want to sell it.
A mishandled beer isn't magically going to sour - the sour flavour is from acid produced by bacteria in the beer - and that's only going to find its way into the bottle at the brewery.

Far too many local breweries have shoddy practices when it comes to bottling which leads to infected beers.

Went to a bike " function " last week end at the Toti brewing company , the beer was ok but the guys had finished all the dark beer the day before so i did not get to taste the dark beer , i drink stout , bit disappointed but i will get round to it again .

no it had a sour taste to it. Had a few sips and had to chuck the rest down the drain. Don't think it was the brew though. Had it before and tasted great then.

The Amber Ale was much better. It did have a little bit of sediment at the bottom, but still a great beer.

Had most of the Redrock's this weekend, highly impressed...

PS: learn to resize and SNIP photos please.
I had some a few weekends ago and was highly disappointed with all of them.

Especially their IPA which is an insult to the name.

Really? Had their lager, pilsner and ale. All were very nice, not spectacular I will admit but not horrible, especially at the price.

The IPA was insipid and that Nine Inch Nail was far too sweet (I reckon they had a heavy hand with the crystal malt).

I get the feeling that whoever brews those beers doesn't have the best idea about what they are doing...

Jack Black Eclipse IIPA Launch Party

https://www.facebook.com/events/999796036796430/

Details
During the Eclipse on the 1st of September, RIOT Beer and Jack Black Beer joined forces to brew up something extra special, an Imperial IPA unlike any other.

A once off, small batch of Imperial IPA was brewed with some crazy new hops, Falconer's Flight and Hallertau Blanc.
This collaboration & experimentation has created an Imperial IPA with some very interesting flavours.

Join us on Friday, 7 October, when we will have this 7.6%, 65 IBU - bad boy on tap at our Tasting Room. Very limited quantities available, so come early to avoid disappointment.

I also thought so, but a can is actually a better carrier of beer compared to bottles.
It is.

But - canning beer leads to more dissolved oxygen uptake in the beer which can lead to a reduction in shelf stability.

Source? First time I've ever heard that argument.
I'd imagine the can is flushed with CO2 prior to filling, then capped immediately, so unless the can itself is more permeable than glass, how does this theory work?

You're right, the IPA was diabolical.

Nine Inch Nail ok for an ale, but yes rather sweet.

Feeling a bit under the weather.
Beer to the rescue, right?
