The Division

Skill : 2146

Very squishy. One sniper-shot will take you down. I am running on 72K health and a sniper will drop me to a sliver of health with one shot.

Sounds like your stat split is roughly 1800 Firearms, 1500(?) Stamina, 2100 Electronics (this one is tricky to work out)

If your Electronics is that high, swap those pieces for Stamina pieces and look for +SkillPower on Backpack and Mask to minimize the drop in Electronics. You can focus on Electronics again after your HP is satisfactory

Try and raise your Stamina to around 1900-2000 before beginning Challenge Modes ~ you want at least 60k hp

So how do you work out the above, I am still not to sure what to look for in stats at the end of the day to be honest,
I normally look at what the dmg is on the FA to determine the result as the DPS is a bit misleading and I just look what will push my health up to the max without loosing too much DPS on the FA.
I am not to concerned about electronics for now anyway so I will swop this around to give health and DPS the boost.

All in all I still enjoy the game a lot. So farming for equipment is still fun for me and the biggest drive to play at this stage

Hi guys, looking for some players on PS4 to run dailies/challenge mode missions.

play most evenings but will not be online this weekend (from tomorrow) on holiday.

PSN: newton777

some random stats:
lvl30
dz lvl 21 (need to up this but never can find a solid group to run with)
DPS +- 120k
Health +- 70k (trying to up this)
Skill +-12k

FA: 84007 Dps
Prim AK - 7254
Sec: M1A - 26400
Health : 39849
Skill : 2146

You could easily up this with doing the dailies and challenge mode missions. You guaranteed Phoenix Credits and you also get a bunch of purples and one HE item per go. Use the HE items you get and then you can start with blueprints once you have enough PE.

I suggest grinding it out as much as possible before the update drops on the 12th cos they changing the crafting requirements (greens to blues to gold).

edit: this is a good write up on what to do once you hit 30. https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/4aq7oy/thee_endgame_guide_what_to_do_when_you_hit_30/

I will add you then we can run, I am almost the same level what you are now so you are more than welcome to join.

good stuff, thanks.

Does anyone know how DZ XP works? After a little (inner) raging due to multiple deaths by the hands of the same 3 rogues, and taking in the 1400 XP it says I lost per death, killing a couple mobs took me beyond where I was XP wise before the deaths.

Do you get more XP than the ~160 that pops up above their heads as they die?

Either I'm really fortunate, or there is something I'm missing.

Theorycrafting ;)

It's taken me weeks of farming PxC to reroll my gear

I normally look at what the dmg is on the FA to determine the result as the DPS is a bit misleading and I just look what will push my health up to the max without loosing too much DPS on the FA.

DPS is horribly misleading because Crit Chance and Crit Damage are not weighted properly, while Accuracy is weighted too much

Take your sniper rifle and mine as the best example because of how severe the difference is between listed sniper rifle damage and actual damage (there are obviously a ton of other factors, such as 'Marksman Rifle Damage bonus' on gloves)

Your M1A does 26k per bullet and it's DPS value is listed at 100k ~ a crit from your gun hits for 52k (200%)
My M1A does 36k per bullet and it's DPS value is listed at 90k ~ a crit from my gun hits for 72k (same 200% modifier for simplicity)

This is very likely because you've applied the best 'visual' dps increase (Rate of Fire, Magazine Size, Accuracy)

If you and I were to simulate actual damage in the firing range, by shooting 100 bullets the final damage figures would be very different (despite there showing a 10k DPS difference)

We'd need all the relevant info to calculate this correctly, but with napkin maths (ignoring headshots which is purely player dependent)

100 bullets, and we both have 20% crit chance and 200% crit damage (100% base + 100% from gear) ~ 20 of the 100 bullets will be crits

Your gun:
100 bullets
80 bullets non-critical - 26k X 80 = 2,080,000
20 bullets critical - 52k X 20 = 1,040,000

Total = 3,120,000 damage dealt

My gun:
100 bullets
80 bullets non-critical - 36k X 80 = 2,880,000
20 bullets critical - 72k X 20 = 1,440,000

Total = 4,320,000 damage dealt

Over the course of 100 bullets fired, I did an additional 1.2 mil damage despite having 10k lower listed DPS... this gets far more complicated when you throw Firearms, headshots/headshot crits, Rate of Fire, Elite Damage, Enemy Armor Damage etc into the mix and want to know what the actual dps is :o

TLDR; focus on a gun's damage value per bullet rather than overall DPS, slap on as much crit chance/crit damage using mods as possible

I am not to concerned about electronics for now anyway so I will swop this around to give health and DPS the boost.

Electronics/Skillpower tends to fall under "advanced gameplay", it can have an incredible effect on some skills and be utterly useless on other skills.

My Sticky bomb-BFB hits for 250k, that's roughly 1-2 chunks of a lvl 32 elite's shield...pretty worthless in PVE to be honest... but it one-shots players in the DZ

Good write up @Oculate

Just a point regarding rerolling HE using PC. The update changes this to use normal credits. Wonder if its worthwhile to stop rerolling and wait for the update.

I'm still trying to get the balance right on my build. I still need to get HE kneepads and holster. So confused which stats to pull in for this....

Accolades!

When you enter combat a timer starts,

There are 10 enemies (160XP X 10 based off your XP value),
You then head shot 5 targets switch to an SMG and take out the remaining 5 very rapidly

<Keep in mind while killing each enemy you received 160XP for each kill>

As the last enemy dies, and there are no more hostile targets, you exit combat

As you exit combat, you suddenly gain additional XP from what's known as Accolades - because you killed 5 enemies with head shots, you gain 5x 100XP (Headshot accolade), you also scored 1x Multikill which adds another 500XP

XP gained in total = (10 x 160) + (5 x 100) + (1 x 500) = 2600XP

Look for 'Increased kill XP' on gear and look out for the Knee Pads with the talent 'Accolades are tripled' if you need to XP farm

I just push the stats up on what ever's required by the purple perk on my main weapons. Level 27 now, just finished Stuyvesant.

I probably should stop rerolling yes... but who has that level of self control? :D

Haha... I "have" some control when it comes to rerolling cos I'm saving for blueprints. Got the Vector and AK blueprints so far. Want to get the backpack one but will wait for the patch. Don't want to risk being locked out with the bug thats going around. Plus I picked up a semi decent HE backpack on a mission the other day.

Sounds like you use a sniper, whats your 2nd weapon?

Thanks for that image, I'll properly look at it tonight when I have my profile open. Wish they went through with the companion app, would make life so much easier... although far less work will be done...

I used to have a M1A sniper permanently equipped, now it stays in my inventory and I only use it in proper long range engagements (Boss room of Lexington for example)

Currently I'm running around with my AK (optimal range 26m) in the primary slot and a Vector (optimal range 14m) in the secondary slot

I just sent you a PSN friend request as well

Saw the request, accepted from the app, not sure if it got through.

I'm running the same but Vector in 1 and AK in 2.

Thinking about getting the Police Mk17. I've heard good things about snipers but never really explored the viability.

Accolades!

When you enter combat a timer starts,

BAH!! I feel stupid now. :p
Thanks for that though! I had COMPLETELY forgotten about those.

I've unwillingly got some XP gear on, and have been toiling for nights and nights on whether I should just suck it up and reroll.
When they announced the rerolls would move to credits from next week, it made my mind up for me :D

I just really want to be DZR 50 before the patch, just so I can say I got there. Level 41-and-a-bit now, just need to push harder.

Edit: Another warning just in case it was missed, convert all your lower tier materials now. There is a massive increase to converting coming with 1.1

I've been slowly converting rubbish Challenge rewards into a viable XP focused set (specifically picking the 'Accolades are tripled' Knee pads)

I guess it's not a complete waste of time/PC to achieve DZR70 eventually :p

I kinda worded that but about "unwillingly" badly.
I'm benefiting from it nicely as things stand now, it's just not a roll I would've chosen :)

But yes, getting to rank 70 and beyond will most likely require some XP gear if you want to do it in reasonable time.

I am interested to see if ALL ilvl 32 gear ends up with the DZ06 vendor or whether some are available elsewhere.
I also hope that they don't pull a vanilla D3 with Set Items and have them roll at ilvl 31, making normal ilvl32 HEs just plain better.

Some quick clarity;

DZ06 Vendor will sell new Blueprints for DZCreds

I would assume this stays as is;

Weapon vendor in DZ02 updates his weapon blueprints for DZR25 = ilvl30, DZR40 = ilvl31 and so on with each vendor across the DZ

Sets will have corresponding Blueprints

Sets will NOT have talents, but the bonuses you receive will make them more desirable over a HE ~ HE will become filler

Being full HE at the moment means you'll be very overpowered (technically each HE grants a unique talent), but not enough to directly tackle Challenge Incursions

Once you're geared (full 4 set bonus) for Challenge Incursions, you will only really have 2 HE pieces to play with

What I really cant wait for the details of the sets, this week. I want to see:
a) how set bonuses work
b) with pieces not offering individual talents, how powerful are those bonuses to "surpass" HE in specialised roles.

While the reddit is consuming itself with the crafting changes, I'm actually quite looking forward to sinking a lot of time into the coming and upcoming updates.
