@Hazelbag: I assume you are talking about the CPU usage under System Info in XBMC. I haven't done any tests on 1080p content. Currently both cores are sitting around 50% on a 480p file download running off a flash drive. I'll try to stream something from the internet just now.
 
@avsupply so its normal for it to run at 80-95% when streaming from the internet?

@Yotch have you tested yours yet?

Will adding a SD card increase the device speed and so on?

Just out of curiosity, how to you do a comomete reinstall on the MX and how do you set it uo to launch straight to XBMC and not android?

Will everything be lost if you do a reinstall?

The things I customized for you will be lost

To launch an application at start, look at the AutoStart app I installed for you. Also look at the Gbox Settings app if you want to change the background or add a Live Wallpaper
 
@Hazelbag: I saw one of my cores hit 100% when I tried streaming from Icefilms - not even HD either! 80~95% sounds about right. Did you install your 1channel and Icefilms in XBMC 12 using one of those YouTube video guides or similar or did you upgrade your XBMC completely?

@AVS: Looking for the simplest/safest way to do this in case anybody else needs to do the same - trying to create a simple procedure for complete android novices like myself.

OK, I may get back to you on this if I can't find a working procedure. The strange thing is that Icefilms appears to be working without fusion after just installing it as an add-on.
 
Avsupply installed everything I needed, thanks for that much appreciated. Only thing I added was sports replays for motogp and sbk.

Ok so a fresh install is a bad idea!

Will look into the autostart app.

What is gbox?

So there is nothing wrong with the CPU usage, we use XBMC on my laptop in the bedroom which is an i5 and the CPU on there while streaming runs at 25 - 35% so I suppose it is normal taking into consideration that its an i5.

Learning how to firmware update the box is a good idea, especially with a big update on the horizon

And customizing the DroidTV is installing a few apps and configuring XBMC, which you seem very capable of doing :)
 
Received mine this morning an enjoying it, Keeping me distracted from work :D

Having trouble getting the RC11 USB Gyroscope Air Mouse and Wireless Keyboard Remote working, haven't tried to hard, only have 3 AAA batteries between the 2 remotes. I thought it was just plug and play, is there any setting I'm missing?

Can anyone recommend me any free streaming services? Being looking through xbmc and its addons, its a bit overwhelming with how much there is.

Was also wondering, I've install the Motor sports replays addon, are you only able to watch recorded shows, or is there a way to watch a show live?

It is a brilliant device and you will enjoy it a lot. I can't give you any advice on the remotes as I use Yatse for XBMC.

Get the 1channel addon, 90% of the shows will be there and the quality is great also look for icefilms which is not bad either.

As for motor sport replays you will only be able to watch them as they are loaded by the sico (creator of motor sport replays) I haven't seen any live sports like motogp and so on but there is rugby and so on.

I don't have the RC11 but you usually need to pair the device correctly with the receiver. There should be something in the instructions about doing that. Usually you just turn it on or press a key and an LED flashes to indicate that it is pairing.

You might need to reset the device but first speak to AVS as I'm sure he knows the product very well.

The RC11 USB receiver is a bit too long, insert it into a USB port and slowy pull it out until the remote responds :)
