The Droid TV thread

How do I get my favorites on my MX2 to sync with XBMC on my laptop? Is this possible?

@AVSupply it says compressing database on every reboot, is it normal for it to do this?

Yes, but it should be quick if you update your library on each boot. Does it take a minute each time you boot?

Regarding syncing favourites, yes, it's possible using a central Mysql Database and modified AdvancedSettings.xml file

Was wondering if anyone can help me connect yatse to xbmc, I found this guide https://code.google.com/p/android-xbmcremote/wiki/SetupInstructions but can not find the settings option. Yatse also can't find any servers.

My XBMC doesn't have the Service option, under System I have Add-ons, Skin settings, File Manager, Profiles and System Info

I feel like an idiot now, I didn't know you could click on system and then settings comes up, I just thought you only had the options that come up under it

Awesome, is it working now? :)

Yup :D
I updated XBMC to 13.1 as well now but I see some of the add-ons aren't compatible any more (such as motor sport replay and iTV), I had to uninstall 13.0 to update as it kept giving me a signature error when running the new apk.

With the remote I've noticed that if I hold the power button and the droidtv goes off, then I can't power it back on with the remote (this is with the qwerty keyboard remote), the power light stays on on the droid tv. To get it back on, I have to use the original remote and power it off and then on.

Yes, unfortunately there is no USB power when in StandBy

@AlexFl: Are you still thinking about joining the Droid family or have you already taken the plunge? I'm sure that you will really enjoy this awesome device!

@AlexFl: If you're not familiar with XBMC you can get a good idea of what to expect using a browser by visiting www.projectfree.tv . Search for a TV show like The Big Bang Theory and then choose one of the many streaming sites offering that particular episode. You will have to navigate your way through a number of popup ads before you reach the video screen. XBMC is just a fancy interface to the same video material and avoids all of the popups etc. There are also addons in XBMC to access 1Channel (www.primewire.ag), www.icefilms.info as well as hundreds of other streaming sites. Use the Search function at these websites to decide whether the DroidTV will satisfy your requirements. It also comes preloaded with apps for Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube etc. - you just need to enter your account details and you should be good to go.

Take a look at some of the 1000+ reviews/videos on Amazon for more information (DroidTV MX and G-Box Midnight MX2 are both using the same motherboard/casing/software etc.) ...
