The Droid TV thread

Getting my unit today with stock remote control. The remote I ordered out of stock and will hopefully get it next week.

Any advice for initial startup? Keys to program on stock remote control?

Also my playlist in xbmc. How to configure? I am used to a Windows type file structure (as in Mede8er as well). How do I mimic this in XMBC? I find the setting up of "places" to find files to play tedious...

Jaque I'm already at work, so you can pop around anytime. Just give me a call before hand

Yup... done all that.
It's just the playback that stops; the DroidTV itself doesn't freeze up so I don't think it has anything to do with the HDMI cable or the signal path. I suspect it's a decoding issue... When I press "play" the video plays normally but the sound is all garbled. Sounds like a high-pitched modem. When I stop playback and return to the XBMC interface and restart the video there (picking up from where it left off), everything is back to normal.

I'm away from my DroidTV atm researching my problem. Does anyone know if the "Euphoria" screensaver is installed by default on the device. I've seen a few posts saying that it can interfere with playback and, curiously enough, when playback does stop on my device, I see a screensaver which disappears when I move the cursor to show the XBMC interface.

Jaque do I need to still do this step?

If not alreadydone, you must manuallypairthe controllerwith yourphone. This can be done using'SixaxisPairTool' , orwith 'MotionInJoy' orthe linux utility 'sixpair'. Your phones bluetooth address should be shown at the bottom ofthe mainapplicationwindow andwilllook something like1A:3C:13:00:21:C2 ; you need to enter this number into the 'SixaxisPairTool' asshown. This process only needs to be done the first timea controlleris used on a different device, so ifyou only use the controlleron one phone, you willonly need to do it once.

Yes

Wireless will be much better

After pairing your controller, launch MAME and map the all buttons

Done!
okay ill have a look later this week. my only concern is that sixaxis pair tool part, as im not sure how that works or where exactly i get that tool

found this on XDA Devs

What I did is:
1) downloaded/installed that sixaxis pair tool
2) plugged the PS3 controller into my computer
3) downloaded/installed sixaxis controller app to my Nexus 7
4) started the sixaxis controller app and hit Start, let it get to listening for controllers then I hit Stop
5) started the sixaxis pair tool
6) In the pair tool I changed the master to match the "local bluetooth address" at the bottom of the controller app screen on my Nexus 7
7) Unplug PS3 controller
8) On the Nexus 7 I hit Start again, wait for listening to controllers again
9) Hit the PS button on the PS3 controller
10) Done!

Easier if you have an OTG cable

Since I'll have to wait for the mx3 remote because avsupply doesn't have it in stock yet, any idea which is the best android app for my phone to control the box?
