rpm just replied to my pm
Competitions are not allowed![]()
Hmm... how is that different to sponsoring a prize for a 'MyBB' competition? Just curious - seems that's allowed...
According to rpm, the mods won't allow it. Too many scams from past competitions
@iru786: I also recently obtained an MXIII and I must say it has been working very well for me. What are you using to control the device (IR remote, air mouse, wireless keyboard etc.)? I can't say that I've noticed any lag on mine.
@iru786: You need to get an air mouse if you want the best performance from this device. Android is designed for touchscreens so you will struggle to use the IR remote easily on most apps. An air mouse will completely change your experience. Most customers don't bother with the IR remote.
Connected AirMouse... But cant see feel a bit of Lag... May be i am just being fussy for no reason. But i would still like to 3 & 4th core to kick in so looking around for some settings
@ Yotch,@iru786: I haven't heard anybody mention this before. Personally I think it has the best UI that I've ever used on a media player. I'll look around to see if any other customers have raised this issue. Here are some of the latest Amazon reviews ...

@ Yotch,
Dont get me wrong... I had M8 & Q7 as well and this box seems to be performing better than them. Also the default UI is much smoother than others.
But i would still like all the cores to fire up to give much snappier experience as i can see the cpu load going up to 60% on the single core before the 2nd core kicks in.... Might be just the case of changing the governer to OnDemand or Conservative
The general consensus seems to be that most (if not all) of the IR remotes on the android media players are not very useful. The experience can be compared to using the cursor keys to navigate on a Windows laptop - it can be done but it gets very frustrating. You need something that can easily move around and select on the screen. I have the T2 air mouse which works extremely well but there are other options (MX3 and Mele F10 Pro) with a mini keyboard. I also have a Rii type mini keyboard with a trackpad which I hardly use now except in emergencies as it is not really suited to swiping and dragging etc.

EDIT: If he has a normal desktop/laptop wireless mouse he could also try that.
Open it up and check where the infrared sensor is sitting. If its too recessed, the case of the unit may actually be blocking off the signal, and reducing the angle (it's a very line of sight technology.)I am familiar with the general clunkiness of these bundled remotes, but this one doesnt work at all unless you point in exact direction of the receiver, a few degrees out and nothing registers. My question is if this is normal, because as it is the device is unusable with the bundled remote?
