I have the following setup:
1) HP Micro Server running XBMC with all my media on it's HDD connected to the TV in the one room
2) Droid MXIII connected to the TV in the other room.

I set up the MXIII to read all my TV Shows from the TV Shows Library of the Micro Servers XBMC, I did the same for Movies, Music etc.
The problem I have is that wathing an episode or marking it as watched on the Droid does not do anything, as the status stays "Unwatched" on both XBMC's.
I tested this with movies and that works fine you can set the watched flag on either device and it will reflect the same on the other, but with TV Shows that does not seem to work.

Has anyone else also got this problem or even better has anyone found a solution to this?

Are you using a shared XBMC library on mysql? If you are, have you got the following entries in your advancedsettings.xml file

<videolibrary>
<importwatchedstate>true</importwatchedstate>
<importresumepoint>true</importresumepoint>
</videolibrary>

No, I am accessing the files via UPNP.
I am not familiar with the shared library mySQL route, is it tricky to set up?

At first it may look a bit intimidating to setup. But its actually pretty simple. Just follow the guide above.
You won't be able to live without it after a while

No, just make sure both are running the same version of XBMC (13.2)

im gonna get me a Droid box. My only question is, most of it will be for running external drives, self powered USB 2's and 3's, powered USB 2 and 3 etc, in both 2.5 and 3.5. Will the MX3 pick up those drives without the need for extra power etc. Can i plug in a USB hub, and run multiple drives in that way, as i noticed the MX3 only has 2 USB ports

You only have 5V to play with. I would suggest you limit the number of 2.5" drives to 1, maybe 2

And why so many USB drives? You need a fileserver if you want to join the cool club

Yes and No. Rather look at Network filesharing, as it makes life so much easier when streaming digital content. Do you have a desktop PC at home?

Self powered drives on self powered USB hubs should be fine.

i do yes, but its old and hardly being used. Me and the missus are just plug and play at the moment... think in the new year we going to go the XBMC route and strictly just stream.

My question was just around whether the MX3 can handle both types of drives. If it struggles with self powered, then i need options before i purchase, as most of the times we just plug and play. But i want to go into the XBMC, Netflix arena as well

okay so here is my final question i promise, final one for today. tomorrow or later ill be back.

what are the key differences between the MX3 and the MXQ. I noticed that the MXQ runs the S805 chipset, while the MX3 the S802. Im assuming the S805 is the newer one?
