The Droid TV thread

Same concept as your phone. It doesn't really generate that much heat in the first place.
Mine has been left on all night and it's sitting at 39 degrees.

Mine doesn't get switched off, run it 24/27.

Ditto - mine stays on 24x7 cos it's my NAS and download server.

For file services - Sambadroid
For torrents - uTorrent or ttorrent (preferred). See the opening post - I've got a link in there on how to automate the torrent startup/shutdown which I do to make use of Telkom's free bandwidth between 12 and 7am

Servers ulitmate is incredible in the number of services it provides, but I'm not sure if it does SMB better than Sambadroid - never tried it.

Guys, every now and then watching shows via mxplayer or xbmc the screen flashes to black for a second, then comes back on. Any ideas? It seems at random intervals.

Sounds like an HDMI issue - how is your cable / connectors? Try another cable - is yours high quality?

Someone on the mbox forum mentioned the same thing. They said it's a permissioning problem

I've added the required permission changes to a new ROM, would you like to attempt your first upgrade? :)

I had the same issue, replaced my HDMI cable and it worked.
Could be firmware related.

All ok, it's the same cable I have been using on my PC -> TV for over year now. I have others that I can always try.

Yeah, willing to be a guinea pig :D (once the wife finishes watching Greys).

I'm keen to get back home and load the latest FW on mine too. 4 more days!
