The F10 Pro is NOT Bluetooth so needs the dongle to work.

Please unplug the M8, connect the dongle and power it back on

Now test and let me know what doesn't work?

Thanks

Sorry but i was incorrectly refering usb dongle that comes with F10 as Bluetooth dongle.
I can use the remote correctly with the dongle attached but there is no sound coming out. Also the view playback including the navigation is very jittery.
Without the F10 usb dongle, everything is smooth

You need to install Soundabout to prevent the F10's internal speaker from hijacking the audio

Please see iaywtimnbe's thread for more info

Let me know if that sorts out all your issues?

Thanks

So is this better than a Roku 3?
Anyone have both ?
Seem to me it can do everything a Roku can do and more.
I have the Roku3 and a Minix X8H, which is equavalent to the M8. The two are quite different beasts.
For paid services like Hulu+ and Netflix, the Roku out performs any Android box. Apparently Netflix do not provide greater than 720p on Android because of DRM issues. This may be fixed in the future. The Android box has tons of free stuff (not available on the Roku), although the free stuff's quality is not as good as the paid services like Hulu and Netflix etc.

For me the Roku is a tool and the Android box is a hobby. I have a lot of fun experimenting with the Android box and trying out various apps and discovering new things. I would recommend having both of them.

Edit: The Android box can do a whole lot more than the Roku.

Thanks... Got the sound issue sorted. Now need to get key mapped on F10 as power and other switches are not working.

In regards to the box, its for much snappier than Q7. Tried streaming 3d movie from my PC and it works really nice.

Glad to hear it

Do you still own a Q7? I'm busy testing the KitKat firmware, will let you know if it's any good

Can you still load firmware? The KitKat release has really supercharged the Q7

I'm busy putting together my own version, I'll upload it later

Yes i can still load firmware. I will give it a try once you upload it.

In regards to M8, There is surely an issue with wireless reception. Its not that great even with Router being in the same room.

Also when you connect the usb dongle for F10 pro. There is notable lag in the UI as well was video playback. Not sure about the reason for it.

I've use the F10 with the M8 and don't have those issues. What firmware are you on?

@ Avsupply : Thanks. Will give the new firmware a try and see if that resolves the issue.

@iaywtimnbe : Have you had any streaming issues over wifi on M8? For me it keeps on buffering both with WIFI & Ethernet

What are you streaming? I'll test this side. I've streamed using watch series.it in the browser just fine.

Tired watching channels via Xbmc, Youtube and even tried watching youtube or other video sites via the browser on M8. Same result. It keeps on buffering and stutters while playing the content.

Same content works fine on my PC and that's connected on Wifi as well.
I am on Afrihost 4mb business line so internet speed does not seems to be an issue.

But i will try it again after applying new firmware once Avsupply sends me the link. May be it will resolve the issue.

@iru786: Have you tried reducing the resolution on the YouTube file that you are streaming. Just click on the rightmost icon in the top right of your screen. It should open a resolution setting icon in the centre of the screen. I can usually stream 720p YouTube files on the DroidTV via WiFi but I have a 10Mbps line with a capped WebAfrica account.

@Yotch... Good point. dint think about that. Will give it a try

iru786: Maybe you can try this 1080p Big Buck Bunny YouTube video clip to see what speeds will stream smoothly.

YouTube works pretty well on the DroidTV. I have tried a few documentaries like The Men Who Made Us Fat and it was streaming smoothly at 720p a few nights ago.
