The first boot takes a while to configure

If it never boots into XBMC, reflash the firmware

Yes, it does take a while, it loaded to a red screen with XBMC written across the screen and i left it there for about 30min the screen started flashing every two seconds, but nothing happens?

I installed the 1.2.2 firmware from matricom and I am back up, I would like to have that linux version back as it was pretty quick.

Can you maybe have a look at that linux version you sent me and maybe test it on your side to see if it works on your side?

M8 & AV Supply

Ok so after playing around over the weekend, reflashing trying out a few things. My M8 is now perfect and running better than I expected it would be. I am so impressed I just ordered another one for the room. This little box is amazing and would recommend it to anyone. I found after flashing to the latest firmware XBMC was much more stable. Mash-Up is awesome and the selection of anime and shows is asstonishing. Got nothing done the entire weekend, haha.

Thanks again to Jaque for assisting me with a few noob questions, the support was amazing!!

Great Stuff!!

Who runs their MX with a linux version? I tried it yesterday but it freezes on the bootup screen.

Any advice on how to get it sorted and running with linux as our only use for it is XBMC.

Thanks

Hi Guys

Great Thread.

I am still on the fence as to what device to get, let me explain my scenario.

I have a TV (Sony 47" 3D LED) in the TV room, connected to HP Micro Server (HTPC) that does all my downloads and storage of media files and it plays content to the TV through XBMC. This works perfect. I also do allot of sport streaming in Chrome with AdBlock running through sites I found here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/222908-Where-to-watch-free-streaming-TV-online
I have a second TV (old Sony 32" LCD) in my bar which I want to connect to be able to play my music and video on the HP Micro Server through XBMC, I also need to be able to watch the sport streaming in Chrome with AdBlock running through sites I found here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/222908-Where-to-watch-free-streaming-TV-online Currently I will be playing Audio and Video on the TV through HDMI, but at a later stage I will be buying an amp and speakers to handle the sound in the bar.

Currently I am looking at either the DroidTV MXIII or the ATV-582 MyGica ATV582 Nano Box both are priced the same.

So which one will fit my needs best?

Hi Hazelbag

Looks like you need to downgrade to 1.1.5 before flashing the cronicorrey firmware

"MX2REF: Matricom Android FW from 1.1.6 and WJB's Linux builds from November 21 2013
will be using new uboot and have a different MTD, You must revert to 1.1.5 then flash latest build below.
"

HowTo create a 1.1.5 update SD Card

DOWNLOAD THIS:
http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-Raw-Copy-Tool/HDDRawCopy1.02Portable.exe

Then use the extracted sd card image file as a source and set a target to your sd card (4 gb), it writes the image, close the HDD RAW COPY program and eject the card (SAFELY - choose eject from PC, right click menu + eject).

Hi AVSupply,

I am also interested in something similar as I have a HTPC running xbmc and trying to find the best way to get it to my TVs in other/different rooms.

Hi lucifir,

If XBMC is your media app of choice, the MXIII is an excellent buy. The interface is fast, full HD playback is super smooth, and you have access to all the available apps on the play store.

My only suggestion, if you plan on streaming HD content, is to connect the box to your network with a LAN cable

@eduan: The Scoop pricing for the ATV-582 does not include VAT.

I recently got an MXIII and I must say that it is a very impressive device. The excellent support from AVSupply is also unmatched as far as I am aware.

Hi All,

I've decided to mount my big HD on the MX device (HD playback was a bit slow via the Wifi, and I couldn't get it to auto-continue to the next show in the sequence), but I am wondering if there is a way to share it with my PC?

@ReenenLaurie: Take a look at posts #851 and #852 in this thread and post again if you are still having problems.

Hi All,

If you talking about XBMC, go to XBMC System >> Video >> Playback, and enable "Play the next video automatically"
