The Droid TV thread

@raind33r: Is Netflix currently working on your PC and I assume that you have recently updated your IP? Reboot the Droid just to be sure that there is no DNS problem.

Just make sure that you have the correct version of Netflix loaded. Click on Settings > Other > More Settings > Apps > Netflix and just make sure that you have installed either 3.7.0 or 3.7.1.

Hi Guys,
I am planning to get one of these units in the very near future, currently I'm running a XBMCBuntu PC to cater for my requirements. Out of curiousity, do you guys adjust your MTU setting or is it still the network default of 1500. Is there an improvement when set at 1492, because this should give you a better response compared to 1500 where the data packet gets split into 2?

@patrick123: Many thanks for the useful IPTV links. I am sure that you will really enjoy one of the latest Droid TV machines!

I have never tried changing the MTU which appears to be set at 1472 in my router. What kind of improvements have you noticed with a setting of 1492?

Not yet but should have soon

Damn, the remote on the MXIII is bad!! From the forums I knew it was not great, but it does not even have a STOP or PLAY button. How do one stop a movie inside XBMC with this remote, i.e. stop and return to movie titles?

Send AVSupply a mail - I think he mentioned a simple method to remap the keys on the remote.

You can also look at this link on how to use a different IR remote on Amlogic media players etc.
http://www.zoomeren.nl/2014/06/28/logitech-harmony-remote-for-eny-m8-android-tv-box/

In the long run though you are going to be a lot happier with an air mouse/keyboard device. Android is designed for touch screen devices so a normal IR remote is always going to be clumsy.

Ditto on the airmouse - definitely good for an android box - since it's wireless it's more responsive and the mouse allows you to swipe etc as you would normally with a finger on the Android screen.

Hi leonb,

I've mapped all my multimedia keys (Play, Stop, PgUp/PgDn, etc.) to the numeric keys on the standard remote. Go to XBMC >> Apps and launch the Keymap Editor

If you have an Android smartphone, the official XBMC remote and YATSE work very well. The Official remote is also available on iPhones

Is it not possible to change the resolution and refresh rate in xbmc?

No, it outputs your Android resolution and refresh rate

If you want XBMC to auto adjust the refresh rate of the movie you are watching, that should be possible soon using an XBMC script. I'll post here when I get it working

Buy a quality airmouse, Mele is good :-)

Just a titbit info for Netflix users, Netflix will not log in if the date/time of your droidtv is wrong...had this problem a long time ago. test, you will see.;)

Ok have an issue here..XBMC keeps 'scanning for new content' and dont know why and from my logs this line is prominent:
'WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(video)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available' Does anybody know what does that mean?

My issue wasn't date/time - although the error message alluded to that. It was DNS.

Tried the DNS address provided by Yotch and all was cool.

Only issue I have is that when you go onto Wifi then you can't specify your DNS manually on the MX3. Has to be set on the router.
