The Droid TV thread

Hi HorusZA

Are you still having wireless issues?

Thanks

Yeah... I eventually gave up and my brave wife volunteered to do some ninja-acrobatics in the roof to help me lay a Cat5 cable.
Could not get the transfer speed to run above 1.8MB even when a meter away from the wifi router (also an 802.11n unit). I did some reading at it seems that this just how it it. A bit disappointed as other media players I've played around with had no trouble establishing a fast, reliable wifi connection.
Anyways, all good now.. very happy with the player otherwise :)

Hi HorusZA

I'll test with my unit. If it's firmware related, I'll get it fixed!

Please give me a few days

Thanks

LOL at the Ninja comment :)

Finally Matricom have revealed the G-Box Q after a year of development, http://matricom.net/product_page/g-box-q/.

Very Similair to the MXIII 2GB that is sold by @AVSupply, except for 802.11ac Wifi spec , which is crazy fast at 1 gigabit per second. Im sure the firmware and UI will be amazing, if Im not mistaken, Matricom also has special hardware privileges on Amlogic Chipsets and has its own XBMC/Kodi branch, so it should be a great product. Lets hope that @AVSupply will stock it!

I simply wont buy it do to this fact as im not crazy about external light sources interferring with my movie time. Saw applies to leds from bluray players without led dimming etx.

when I launched xbmc yesterday I got a message saying my version (think it's 13.2beta) needs to be updated to a newer version.
Since I'm damn scared to mess up any of my settings and cos I'm not too smart with xbmc- should I update or just leave the old version that is working fine for my needs?
If I need to update, how do I do that?

If you happy, stay where you are :)

@silkman I second that approach ... You don't want to lose you XBMC settings as Kodi is still in beta ... Let's wait for the public release

Have you set it up correctly? This is what I see on my MXIII - Settings > Display > CVBS Mode Setting > 576 CVBS

The AV output on my MXQ doesn't seem to work. Blank screen and buzzing. Not a huge issue, what could be the reason?

Hi d4zza

Did you power off and disconnect the HDMI cable before trying to use the AV lead?

If anybody is interested here is a patch to get Mash Up working again.
http://www75.zippyshare.com/v/33554961/file.html

Download the zip file onto a flash drive. From XBMC on the DroidTV open System > Add-Ons > Install from zip file and select the downloaded zip file on the flash drive. Exit from XBMC and return. Mash Up should now be working again.
