The Droid TV thread

No response from the MXQ again to the remote. Jaque anyway now to get a replacement remote and see what happens? I'm hoping it's more the remote than the box

If any of the MXQ owners want to change the graphics hardware settings, you can go Settings > Other > More Settings > About MediaBox > Build Number - Click 7 times on the Build Number and this should unlock the Developer Options. Go back to the More Settings page and open the new Developer Options menu above About MediaBox .You can try to change the Hardware Accelerated Rendering Settings to see if this helps with either the random black screens or Netflix. Just keep a note of the original settings so that you can replace them.

thnx. i'll give it a shot

@Icemanbrfc: Are you shutting down XBMC properly when you leave the app? You could also try to reduce the background process limit to either none or one in the Developer Options to make sure that nothing else is running in the background and causing the crashes. Does the Home key work to return you to the Home Page?

Well I went through the menu in XBMC. Went into the weather part and it just froze on me. Rebooted the MXQ, and still no response. How to shutdown XBMC when leaving it?

Home key doesn't return me. Nothing on the remote works when it freezes. I can handle these, but the missus is pulling hair out lol. I'll try the developer options stuff

Yo Ice ... How far are you from the box and also is it line of sight in terms of where the remote is handled?

Yes it is. I'm literally a few feet away from the box. Just froze on me again while in developer options.

Might seem that it freezes but it might be the remote guy
No Idea JV. I'll wait to hear what Jaque says, and hopefully he can hook me up with a replacement remote. However, it works, then won't work again. Hahaha. I'm cool, it's electronics, they don't always work. We accept that :)

Strange indeed, these players are rock hard IMHO. Let's see what he says

P.S What is the voltage and amp rating on the supplied power supply that you received with the MXQ?

Frustrating, but apart from this issue it's very cool. At least the res remains now at 1080p, without having to manually force. ;)

@Icemanbrfc: Can you look at the remote through a cell phone camera? If the IR signal is being sent the LED should appear purple in the camera.

Hi Yotch, thanks for all the replies. Yes it flashes purple through the camera
