The Droid TV thread

I have a media player (MG282) set up in my home theatre with Kodi installed. since the last week, I can't access the playsotre, movies on Kodi are lagging badly, can't open many apps, it's very slow. Could an update have caused this? It is a 4 year old device. If it's time to upgrade can anyone suggest a good model/supplier?

My shield arrived Friday and what a awesome device. Kids loved the Android games and all the normal streaming apps works beautifully.

Nice, I'm loving mine too. What games are you referring to by the way? Kids age group?

I found it's not so remote friendly I don't know what solutions you guys have but basically haven't been able to test much on it

Ok got around the remote issue and I see what you saying, says no free space on SD card... means it's trying to store as opposed to directly streaming......
 
Hi All,

I have been using Kodi for the last 10 years. My setup is a windows 10 box with a Rii remote. I didn't really consider a box TV device until now. I'm very keen on getting the Xiaomi Mi box. A few questions before i commit..

- Prices are currently high with no known specials on this box. Im considering buying from Aliexpress or Gearbest. Has anyone done this route and any custom issues?Waiting period?
- Are there any fakes on the market? I notice a Chinese and international version with the Chinese being considerably cheaper.
- Are there different models to this device?
- My setup is normally fully customised Kodi with addons and RD. Is this possible with this box?
- Are there any other boxes that can be recommended. I will mainly be using it for Kodi, sometimes DSTV and a bit of Terrarium.

Sorry about the list of questions but need to spend my money well :)

I had similar issues with my Neo Minix 5, and simply reverted back to factory settings and all it well again. But this time I disabled all updated in the Play Store.
 
OK, in the middle of the move, still not unpacked the Shield I got on sale, so a delay in the excitement :(
 
Anyone know where I can find the ANDROID TV version of DStv Now apk? The latest version is horrible, I'm looking for version 2.0.10, specifically for Android TV.

From Aptoide TV, click on "other versions" to find older Apks
