Yeah good luck to that guy if the METRO POLICE aka LICE get to see him and pull him off... lekker handcuffs and jail stay
I drive behind people every single day with no license plates. Not sure why they would suddenly now find it to be something they have to get off their fat arses to police.
That is different to intentionally covering up your numberplate. The LICE arrest and charge you with obstruction of justice and other serious charges if you obscure or cover the plate. If the plate is not fitted, you can get away with just a fine.
I see lots of cars without plates too... usually luxury cars, being driven at breakneck speeds by arrogant *****, sometimes the cars have that temporary permit in the window, more often, not!
Yes I think so... that is what I think yes.So people should just remove their plates then.
I see plenty of cars with no plates and no temporary permit either.
So, some advice please... I've found a route that misses all toll roads, should I drive the toll-less route or drive the toll route and refuse to pay?
I find it funny that not one of the media outlets has caught onto the fact that it was the judge's first day as a high court judge yesterday when she threw out the e-tolls case.

Also please note that despite SANRAL's coments about no discounts for non-registered users, according to 5.19 of the amended SANRAL act as published in the government gazette No. 36912 of October 2013, paying within 30 days of receiving your invoice by registered post still qualifies you for a 60% discount. (30% discount if you pay within 60 days.)
Discounts for alternate users, after the grace period
5.19 An alternate user who uses a GFIP-toll road and fails to pay within the grace period will be
granted a discount at the time of the payment of the invoice subject to the provisions of this
paragraph. The discount available to the alternate user, the e-toll transactions to which the
discount relates and the final date on which the discount is applicable, are -
5.19.1 60% of the tariff set out in Column 6 of Table 1, for all of the e-toll transactions
reflected on an invoice but only if payment of the invoice is made by the user to the
Agency within 30 days of the date of the invoice; or
5.19.2 30% of the tariff set out in Column 6 of Table 1, for all of the a -toll transactions
reflected on an invoice but only if payment of the invoice is made by the user to the
Agency after 30 and before 60 days of the date of the invoice.
Payment by a user to the Agency, as contemplated in paragraphs 5.19.1 and 5.19.2 above,
must be made subject to the conditions that the Agency may determine and make known.
Picked this comment up on the Daily Maverick site, can anyone confirm this, and if so it makes the whole you will be charged max story rubbish if you are not tagged?
