I decided to start this thread and hope you guys will add all your positive experiences with Neotel here. I've been looking at the forum and I'm sad to say that it is mostly complains. I received my first statement today - which didn't make much sense as there was prorata stuff etc. and the statement wasn't clear on which item was for which month.

Phoning a call center is something I apsolutely HATE. We all know that you are likely to end such a call with your heart racing from anger and NO progress with your enquiry.

I had a good experience. Period. Thought I'd share this! :)
 
For the last two weeks I have been very impressed with the quality of the service. Apart from one small issue that our friendly Neotel Rep says they are looking into the speeds have been good and the latency has been more than satisfactory.

I do not regret not getting an ADSL line in the least.
 
I love my Neoflex service. It is fast, reliable and haven't had one problem over the last couple of weeks that I have had it!

Well done Neotel :)
 
Apart from slow speeds during peak hours (5pm-11pm) I'm very happy with the service.
I know there will eventually be a newer phone device with external phone connection for a cordless and an ethernet connection for the modem on the prime Device. Other than that, I have a phone line which telkom couldn't give me and I've got faster speeds than Iburst and uncapped internet for R1000, Awesome!
 
My internet seems to be stable but at a third of the speed it used to be.
 
I have been very impressed with Neotel overall. I get excellent speeds in excess of 1.5Mbps most of the time, with low latency. My connection is rock solid and never disconnects. My experiences with their call centre has also been positive. I had problems for a few weeks with less than satisfactory speeds and inconsistent connectivity and they were resolved promptly by the Neotel rep. Neotel FTW.

Only thing is I would like a 30GB or unshaped Neoflex package :)
 
Thanks to the Neotel rep's efforts, my problems were all resolved and I now enjoy consistently high speeds 24/7 (> 800Mbps) and acceptable latencies (approx 500ms). I would prefer if Neotel offered me ADSL, but I am definitely a satisfied NeoConnect customer.

So far, and I touch wood while I type this, my 'hanging' service seems to have been resolved since I swopped my device. The 2x100meg files that I can't dload (RS Prem.) are numbers 1 & 5 of Windows 7 7068 and my guess is as good as yours. Other dloads through RS are ok, well great TBH :D.

The complaints desk has been great and the service received from the Durban office was/is outstanding :). So on the overall, the Rep has listened, noted and improved from what I've seen.

I'll update during the weekend.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I requested that all ports be opened and I'm using FDM.

i have to say that i have only had good experience with neotel.
speeds arent too bad, never disconnects........
can switch the phone between pc's.......

all and all i am happy with neotel.

that's over 100 times faster than 7.2 Mbps :eek:
 
Had neoflex for three weeks now and i can say that i am truly impressed with neotels service and efficiency
 
My Experiance

I went to Postnet Fourways to get my Neotel. Dealt with a guy called Mike. I wanted to make sure there as coverage in my area (Broadacers) even though the site map said there was excellent coverage. I got there at 4pm (Tuesday) asked Mike if he could come test, he took my number down to give me a call. At 7pm he gives me a call he just finished working if he could come over (EXCELLENT!), so he came over with a neotel phone and then tested. Even though the phone only had two bars we were consistently getting between 1.4 and 1.9mbps on speedtest.net. Asked him to sort everything out for me and there and then at 8pm gave him the necessary paper work.

What I liked about this:
1. He came after hours to accommodate me!
2. He answered my questions where he didn't know he wrote them down and got me an answer the very next day.

Wednesday he phones me telling me there are no Neoflex devices and they are running low (they = neotel) there should be a shipment coming in on Friday but they can't guarantee. I needed the router on Friday as I was going away and would like to chat to the wife on skype. He gave me the number for their distributor Peter, phoned him and what a nice chap he said he would phone all his other branches to find me a device before Friday.

Thursday comes, I get a call from Peter I have a device can I deliver it to your house !!!!! WOW nice I don't even have to go fetch it! Device delivered on Friday.

This is where the call center let them down, I could get full green signal but the dam Connect would not stay on !!!! I phone the call center Saturday evening get some REALLY ARROGANT plick on the phone telling me that he can't do anything and that its a Level 2 Tech support issue.... he also said they have a known outage on the tower for Broadacers\fourways. Ok I can understand that....

Sunday (Now) comes afternoon still nothing I phone in 1pm chat to a guy called Tebho - what a GREAT CHAP, firstly asks me after a while "Sir I don't want you to be spending your money on your cell phone if its our problem let me call you back" - he calls me back immediately!!! He really went out of his way doing everything he possibly could including deleting my account and recreating me on the network. Two hours later he phones me back asks me to reboot the router which I do and I am connected.

Great lad to speak to and kudos to this lad (the other one (as our Chinese brothers say) was a total plick) I did some speed tests and pretty impressive you can find them here

Wish I could post a good comment here for Neotel but can't. Upload and download speed of 0.02kbps. Call centre is useless. Company is useless. Cancelled contract today. If they dare take off one more debit order, I will sue them for loss of income. I wonder where all my emails for the past month ended up, because they receipients sure never got them.
