Looks legit, except I would add a mirror above the basin and someplace to put your toothbrush
I also think plumbing should run on 1 wall only for convenience
Thanks. There is already mirror there - you probably mean to start mirror a bit below perhaps. There is place to put toothbrush but not in picture. As to plumbing, there is existing plumbing and I have been advised not to mess it up by rearranging it.

Yeah I would say thats very dated tbh...

Looks like a bathroom in my house currently that I'm about to rip out and redo.
2nd dated comment. I need to get my head examined now. Owner of that house used some top notch interior decorator - that much I heard.

Kitchen.

So I have completed the concrete patch project and hoping it will resemble the look I'm after.

The next project is to build a roughly 1m high retaining wall,
How do I DIY? What's the steps?

I have those C shaped retaining blocks ( not exactly sure what it's called)

you need to dig and fill a foundation with concrete mix (stone) about 1 brick below ground level, then brick up to ground level, damp course and brick up further. laying bricks is an art form... use a guide wire and watch a few videos

Weird mirror
I wasn't sure if there was one or not because the reflection looks weird of the tiles in the mirror. I would have imagined the tiles in mirror would be different. Anyways, enough of the mirror
Looks good, go for it

For me a more modern look is something along these lines:

All comes down to taste as well I guess.
The vinyl flooring on the floor and a feature wall looks great.

Those would fit squarely into what I class as Modern as well...

The other part of Modern that is vitally important in my opinion, is optimising the way the space is laid out for best use... something that used to be ignored by older styles purely to get a specific look.

You get modern then you get timeless...

100%..

but even that design has significant elements of modern in it with the frameless shower and that tub.. but its wrapped in timeless design language that I can only imagine is mirrored throughout the house.

Would generally only work in a very big "manor" house type of place though.

I bought a house like this recently... The one is brown and the other maroon, very very sexy.
We renovated my in laws bathroom recently, they had the brown.
My MIL was not impressed that we removed her brown bath because "you don't take out a solid iron bath and replace it with plastic".

When we eventually removed it it took 5 guys to carry, but she wouldn't let them take it away - she wanted to keep it for god knows what. After a couple of months lying in the yard she then said ok it can get chucked out.

That left me and my BIL with the wonderful job of moving this insanely heavy thing. It's ridiculous how much these things weigh.
