I replaced about 200m^2 of paving late last year. The paving supplier suggested PCT 56 as a sealer. Easy to apply and not stupidly priced. Does what it says on the documents. I would recommend applying to the underside before installation if using concrete blocks.

We are in the process of installing a pool. I'm considering trying to level the yard with the sand, instead of paying someone to take it away. Problem is, it is very fine sand that seems to be blowing everywhere. Any suggestions on keeping it in place?

The builders around us use straw.

What are my options to renew the paving. Looking a bit worse for wear

I would hit them with that new Karcher you got and then put a sealer. If you still don't like it you can decide what to do. But that is what I would have done. A sealer would make them pop nicely.

Thanks - will give it a go, going to have to redo the "grouting" - I see its been removed in multiple places by ants.

Ok, so I am gonna get someone out to come and quote me on installing a ceiling with insulation under my carport roof. I was thinking of going the isoboard direction but was wondering if it would help if install more insulation like isotherm between the isoboard and the roof sheeting.

Would it be beneficial at all in doing isoboard with isotherm or would isoboard by itself be enough? Or should I look at putting in some of the foil stuff and isoboard? Bear in mind it gets farking hot under that roof. The cars display an outside temp of 30 degrees and it gets so hot inside the car I could have just as well parked it outside in the sun.

What say you?

What is the difference between the ambient temps and those under the carport? Might be a lot cheaper to just create some airflow?

What do you smart people recommend for an overheating garage with metal roll up doors facing west?
I can see my inverter and battery temperature start spiking at around midday once the sun hits the garage doors and starts heating up the garage.
I have ceilings but not sure about insulation on top of the ceiling boards.

Options ive thought of:
1. Whirly bird extractor fan on roof. But I think with the ceilings, its retaining the heat in the room so only heat between ceiling and roof will be extracted?
2. Extractor fan on windows. There are 2 windows that I can try install fans on. Cant find anything powerful enough though and not sure how effective it will be.
3. I need to start painting the house, so one idea I had was to maybe use Plascon Nuroof cool. From what I read, it will work on most exterior surfaces. So I thought if I use that paint, it might reduce the heat the door generates because its supposed to absorb less UV rays.
4. Air conditioner. This seems like it will work but will be expensive because its about 40m2 of area.

Im open to ideas

Isoboard and white reflective paint on top of the roof..

I am looking at doing my garage door by the carport as well. How hot does your garage door get?
You can cook an egg on mine. Was thinking of Allububle on the inside of the door. While i am busy with the idea of doing an isoboard ceiling on the carport.

There is the option of EPS panels but i doubt it would work on a roll up door.

Ja i thought about a whirley. But not keen on the idea of cutting a hole in the roof sheeting.

Yip mine gets very hot. You can touch it for a few secs before you have to take your hand away.
This allububble is interesting, I will take a look at it.
Maybe a combination of allububble with the nuroof cool paint will result in less heat being transferred.

Thanks for the response.

Cool. I did the calculations on my door using the EPS Polystyrene panels. Would add between 54-60kg to the door. The door can handle the extra weight as well as my motor. But I suspect my springs will need adjustment for the door to operate optimally. So I binned that idea.

Will be going with either the Allububble black, because black would look better on the charcoal door, or the allulite, and maybe just spray the side that is visible charcoal to blend in with the door. A standard roll of Allububle weighs 13.5kg. 40m x 1,25m.

I would need about 10m for my door.

Anyone know where the barn door contractors buy there barn door rails etc. from? Looking to put in my own barn door.

Don't gelmar or the hardware stores also sell them ? Certain I saw it one if those places.

"Steel and Pipes" or any decent ironmonger would be my first stop.
They have bits and pieces you could use to get the look you want.
