My house came with a jacuzzi but the heating has never worked so we never used it for the past 3 years.

Decided to meddle with it today and found this AC contactor in the tripped position and it won't turn on (switch keeps tripping even with the mains off). If I force it to the on position I can feel the heater go on and hot water starts coming out so I think the switch is broken.

Where can I get a drop in replacement for this? Googled the part number but it seems like a discontinued item.

That looks like a 3 or 4 pole 20a breaker... Serious overkill for the application... Is it just red wires going into it and how many?

6 inputs connected with red wires and 1 black wire.

Some inputs have 2 wires going into it. Looks like it goes to the temperature control dial.

6 wires?

Intriguing.... Seems like. Someone massively over complicated their lives with that wiring job.

You should be able to get a like for like replacement though just be a diff brand.

Yes, that should do the job just fine.
Just mark your wires properly or do them one by one, leave for it a hour or so and enjoy a warm Jacuzzi.
Just thought I'd post an update.

With the electronics stores being closed today due to the public holiday, I spent some time reading up on how contactors work and most people say they rarely fail. It's also supposed to be in the off or on position and switched using aux power.

So did more measuring and found that the timer attached to the heater was only supplying 5V AC which isn't enough to switch the contactor that needs 24V.

Then I found a 24V transformer that was plugged into a circuit breaker but not powering anything. So I ripped out the timer (going to replace it with a Sonoff POW anyway) and connected the transformer to the contactor which got it to switch on when I turn the temperature dial.

It's working 100% now. Thanks for the help. Like most other things in my house I suspect the previous owner did a DIY and wired it incorrectly.

Has anyone had their centurion motor controller give up on them (little orange box)?

My in laws have a D2, there's 220v coming in to the controller but no lights and no 12v coming out.

Assuming I can just buy the controller itself and replace it hopefully

did you check the fuses?

Happened to me.... After a power surge... Think the controller was possibly aroubd r1500..

It made more sense to just replace my d5 with a newer d5 Evo at that point... But centurion did have spares if I wanted.

I saw one fuse on the side, checked it and seems to be ok for continuity.

Eish... not the amount of money I felt like spending right now.
Will contact Centurion and other suppliers tomorrow.

yeah there should be 1 fuse and a spare, just make sure you checked the right one xD

Morning. Busy renovating the outside room and know nothing about painting.
As in the pics, started to scrape off peeling paint, but there's hairline cracks (in the paint) i can't get into with a scraper. Just paint over it ? And the scraped areas, i got a tin of Damp cure primer, just paint that on and then coat with paint of choice ?

Do not just paint over it, it will look terrible.

Remove the loose flaky paint as much as you can without actually chipping off the paint. in the parts where the paint is thin just rub with sandpaper until its smooth, for the parts where the paint is thick, fill with a crack filler. My go to is Mendal 90, but polyfiller will work too.

Thanks. So those areas where i stripped the paint off, should be filled with crack filler ? Not just a primer ?
