The crap part about cornice is that walls are not always square or close to it. In Jan I did a place where I use the mitre box just for a close to perfect cut and had to trim down to avoid large gaps for filling.

Why didn't you skim the whole though?

We have vinyl floors that must be about 5-6 years old - came with house we bought . I removed a cover around the fireplace, and was surprised to see what the original vinyl floor looked like. Much lighter and cleaner . Is there any solution (chemical) to deep clean the vinyl without damaging it.

In the pic, the left of the green line is the part of floor that was protected by a cover. I want the rest of my floor to look the same IMG_20200501_141753~2.jpg

Wall*

Skim/plaster the wall to make it straight then install the cornice. I'm thinking that that would lessen the gap between wall and cornice.
When people pay me to fit cornice I won’t waste my money on fixing their walls lol

I'm giving it a few days so all the crowds can subside. Then will venture there.

I drove passed Makro the other day and the queue was out of the parking lot

I went to builders yesterday, what do you want to know?

Could you buy anything? And how busy was it?

Yea that's what I'm thinking as well :D Maybe next week during work hours

They were selling everything except plants, furniture and appliances.

I was there as soon as the store opened and there was no queue. Wasn't cramped inside either. Knew exactly what I needed and where it was so I only spent 15 minutes there.

If you're going for paint supplies you might be disappointed, most of the shelves in that aisle were empty.

Are they still giving away popcorn at the door like they were in the past? Thats one of my main reasons for going to Builders and not their competition (the other reason being their superior operating hours)

If they pay you for that its a totally different discussion agreed. Don't work for free

Having done some work recently at my house I can confidently say none of the original walls or floor are plumb, level or straight :(

I used it in December for my bathroom, don't have any complaints. Might be a bit too early but there's no mould forming

Thanks, most of the complaints I found was about application, that it was too thick so it left lines , very strong odour and it drying too quickly, any issues with that?

Oh nah, I didn't have any of those issues. It is very thick but I think because I used a sheepskin roller it wasn't really a problem.

I painted my ensuite and could sleep in the bedroom that night too.

Popcorn was one of the reasons I went too , sadly, I think in this COVID and post COVID, world , it may never return due to compliance regs that may need to be follow. Thanks builders for that memory
