Re route pipes and waste
Build the new support wall for the bath
Tile everything

Why would I tile after?

you can tile before or after really, before means the bath will be able to come out easier often the lip is blocked with the tile, make sure you account for it when building the support wall
 
We did this with our basin a few years ago and it has worked well for us. We didn't use any sealant between the top of the basin (which has a raised 'lip' at the top behind the mixer) and the tiled wall. Yes, some drips of water do sometimes fall on the floor at the back (from enthusiastic face-washing) but it's not a big issue. Not sure about doing this with a bath, though.

My solid cover that has the poles across it cost I think about R9k from Power Plastics IIRC

Fold up, it's a 2 man job.
You can purchase the roller thing separately but the cost is about two testicles... or one testicle and some foreskin, can't remember the exact currency.

Put a rope in the middle of one side and you can pull it across - I take mine off and on myself.

Paid R5k late 2019 year for my 3.8x5m. Needs a good clean.

(the installation was poor, still need to fix it)

I worry that the sliding of the plastic across my brick paving will damage the plastic

I wholly intend on closing my pool in though, still deciding how best to use the space but I'm over having a pool.

It does a bit, but I figured by the time it's shot my kids will be swimming.

Powerplastics has the pricing on their website. I’m getting one and it’s costing me R13k including installation

Yeah I was tempted to do the same, but with a kid now it was overruled

Yeah, majority of people who have pools are for their kids.

Spoke to my local real estate agent to find out if removing a pool is going to be a bad idea for property value. He said that a pool doesn't add any real value to property in our area and it's more of a bonus to the buyer than anything.

People want en suites, double garages and entertainment areas

When we sell up this joint the next house will be next to the ocean. Kids can swim there in whale piss and fish crap and I still won’t need to maintain it.

Just one point, solid PVC covers work best for rectangular or square pools. If your pool is a wierd shape, you gonna have problems. Also best for small pools

My experience:- dumping a solid PVC cover for my 11mx6m odd shaped pool that cost me R18k after two years because it was completely unmanageable even with 3 people . Previous posts in this thread detail that agony. Happy with my 8k leaf catcher net that I replaced it with last year.

Yip, I have a kidney shaped pool and the solid PVC cover is a bloody nightmare.
It takes up so much yard space and then it's so tricky to maneuver.

i cant wait for the pool ...summer days in cpt i rather be in my own pool than in sea point or at the beach with 50mil others

yes the maintenance im worried about but winter can let it go green
 
Pools, been battling to get the freaking leaves out of it, this last 2 months have been windy in my area. But yesterday did actually have a dip in the pool since early 2020. Kids have been using it since it looked like a swamp so almost 4 years of use out of it.
But it doesn't seem to add any value to properties anymore, as most people want to pay less for electricity and water, which a pool is a freaking hog of both.

Yeah, it's just a luxury people don't want to spend money on anymore for the most part.
