Yes, I checked the root branches coming out of it. The white stuff u see is the sap that came out when I poked it. Its definitely alive.
I am worried it will send more roots towards my property. I already found a root inside the house when I pulled out a piece of old rotten skirting.
There was a leak in the shower of the bathroom. The root came looking for water and it found it. The wall u see next to the root in the pic is the bathroom, and the room Adjacent to it is where I found the root inside the house.
I'd rather go with something created specifically to kill trees, like Garlon4.
It should do the trick of at least killing that root
So buy, drill a hole and fill with garlon4 ?
that's what I would do yeah. maybe wrap clingwrap around the hole so it doesn't seep out or evaporate. Try drill a few holes.
Not sure if that's the best way to do it but it's how I'd go about it

our issue is slope
the place we want paved seems to be the low point in our yard, but for some reason, the outside is higher than our inside so we cannot make any drainage to the outside
and that space in the wall between us and the neighbor behind us where you would let our water drain out, is right into their garage where they do car work
not to mention the big ass trees right in front of it which is lifting the ground up to be higher than that drainage point
still waiting on those quotes and my plan is to just make a collection point with the paving (if possible), sink in something like a 100mm piece of PVC and I will chuck in a submersible pump
don't want to go crazy with french drain stuff

French drains are generally very easy to do.
Your other option is something like a KayTech Infiltrator type of drainage system : https://kaytech.co.za/portfolio/infiltrator/
Dig a deep enough space under the paving to put 2 of them, and it should sort out the drainage problem unless you have a stupid big downpour.

yeah, kind of going with something like that
but just going stock standard 100mm PVC with a slight slope from the 'collection' point and that will run into some kind of housing in ground for the pump
not the fanciest solution or most expensive, but it unfortunately has happened with heavy downpour that it almost runs into the house because of water damming up
just got a submersible pump that is rated for dirty water and 250l/min I think so should be sufficient

As some may know, I have an above ground pool..
It's in the back corner of my property and I can't be arsed to try and get grass growing in between the pool and the boundary walls and the associated maintenance thereof, which would be a headache, considering its about a meter and half space at most..
Going to dump some drainage rocks instead, just to keep the sand covered and avoid it from blowing about.. however, they are rather sharp so don't want them to be up against and almost under the pool edges:
Amy ideas as to making a ledge or lip of some sorts up against the pool, maybe between the legs, to prevent the drainage chips from contacting the pool..? I have some bricks laying about and currently thinking of using this as the ledge, just want some other bright ideas as well..

Ahh if you have the pump, then you're halfway there with the solution...
If you're looking for some form of "enclosure" to hold the pump, I would honestly say go and investigate just one of the Kaytech Inflitrators... They weren't very expensive when I got them, and they are designed to let water drain into the soil as well, so double bonus and you may need to run the pump considerably less often.
