ok, there is a building reclamation place in the east rand I know of that would have the peice you need very likely, if you were in the general area I would have suggested it as it would probably cost the same as a can of the spray

any of you managed to DIY clean a nasty stain inside your toilet?

(from stuff from the pipes ok, not poop stains :P )

Have tried it for bathtub stains. Make a thick paste of bleach and baking soda, wear gloves and apply it (gently rub it in with sponge scorer) to the specific area more than other area. Flush after 10 minutes. See if it makes any difference.

saw someone doing it with Borax powder so glad someone has done this method

did you have a bad stain that stood long?

cause I see we have a lighter one that recently started as well and it really is an eye-sore

how pasty?

we have had calcium type deposits form on the bottom of the bowl, only real way to get rid of it was scraping it.

you can try bicarb and viniger first

yeah. There was a stain that was there for a while and it went away after 2 applicatoins. Paste has to be of thickness so as to remain it on the spot so use that criteria.

Alternatively try Vinegar + soda as well - we use it in our kitchen sink at times if bleach is not available.

I know nothing about pools. But is that 3x2m pool a nice thing to have and how hard is it to maintain?
I stay in a complex and water is included in my levies :D . Others in the complex have built pools in their back yards but I will never do that.

hahah i think you need to get a pump for it as well
and maintain it like you would with a pool using stuff to clean the water

its a nice splash pool i would guess

and yes water is included in your levies until they ask who filled couple 1000 litres of water

They cant really complain about 1 fill a year. My place is just the 2 of us in a 3 bedroom unit and we use very little water compared to the other units. 1 unit washes 2 cars, caravan and a boat at least twice a month and their levies is lower than mine

The 75cm isnt an issue. The wife cant swim all that well but she wants the pool just to relax in.

I guess Ill pass on it, not too keen on the maintenance. But I may not have the final say here :ROFL:
 
Where's the best place to get aluminum square tube? (Cape Town)

Last year I paid R60 for 2.5m x 20mm - it was now R195 at Builders :/

Eurosteel might stock what you want, though maybe not in the short lengths you're looking for.

And also, all metal prices have gone through the roof.. not just at Builders

Price is ok - but shipping makes it about the same.

Will have a look.

Only looking for meter strips - going to cut it anyway - want to make a levelling rake for the garden.

Silly question, but how do I fix this.

Do. I have to replace while conduit and redo the cable or is there something that can cover up the broken piece without redoing cable?

It's usually recommended to replace the conduit. I'd bury it deeper, if you go this route, to prevent future damage.

I suppose you could fill up the hole with some epoxy and sheath another piece of conduit over it and use some PVC weld to make sure it stays put.
