you want a really fine sand, a kiln dried sand. a lot of people use plaster sand but it isn't the most ideal.

plaster sand didn't work at all. 2 above suggested plaster mix and I will give it a try.you want a really fine sand, a kiln dried sand. a lot of people use plaster sand but it isn't the most ideal.
That is some serious water damage. To get to that state, water has to constantly run onto the top of the wall where the roof rests and seep down into the brick. If the cause is not found and fixed it will look like that again in a month or so.Some leaking of the roof valleys etc.
Also, had a similar issue , but in my case blockage in valley created a 'dam' and then water got diverted into house. That was not fun. That is some serious water damage. I think your pool might be greenThanks to all that contributed to the drainage challenge. This is what I have installed so far, basically based on the stock in the store when I can find it.
A bit of a rethink on the section attached to the house, I’ll be looking at getting a perforated or even if not 100mm pipe, that runs that span and covering that with “decorative” gravel, because there is actually no flow in that portion given the roof design and gutters. Yes, the angle still does my nuts in. Thinking a future where I use dump rock with pavers to make it look less of an eyesore.
Does anyone know of a person who can install (and find parts for) a removable pool fence. Need the grommets that go into the ground and someone to drill the holes.

Delivery for something like this probably cost more than the entire board. You can tryAnyone know where I can find a 3m x 610mm pine board for garage shelving that'll deliver in Cape Town? Local builders (useless) say you don't get that size.
I only need one.
The wood shack in Montague gardens has 3m lengths.. don't know if they do delivery though..Anyone know where I can find a 3m x 610mm pine board for garage shelving that'll deliver in Cape Town? Local builders (useless) say you don't get that size.

Most annoying thing about buying wood these days.. my go to place for buying pine, has had delivery cost increase from 450 the first time I bought from them two years ago, to currently charging 750.. thought I would try a new place, wood more expensive but perhaps delivery cost is cheaper, so would balance out.. nope, delivery still 400 bucks..Delivery for something like this probably cost more than the entire board. I have found chip base in tokay pretty effortless.
Biggest mission with ordering boards like this is transporting them if you dont have a bakkie or similar.
If I get my finance approved, I'll charge you 300 bucks..Yeh, that's been the other issue - the places I have found want R500-R600 for delivery.

R300-350 is what most private operators here (in GP) charge if within 10km of distance. Charge is per load so whatever fits in bakkie and it includes unloading although some operators will try to be cheeky to ask unloading fees of 100 rands once it reaches destination. If I get my finance approved, I'll charge you 300 bucks..![]()
So I am not overcharging then.. good to know..R300-350 is what most private operators here (in GP) charge if within 10km of distance. Talk to cashiers - they are likely to know someone who will arrange at 300-350. Cashiers probably get commission for referral.Yeh, that's been the other issue - the places I have found want R500-R600 for delivery.
Tbh, R300 is not really high as it depends on "per load" and distance. So, I got about 200 bricks the other day and in all, it cost that guy an hour and 15 minutes to travel, load (builders warehouse guys loaded it ) & unload (By his guys) but again we stay very close to builders warehouse. So I am not overcharging then.. good to know..
