I would like to install a 3-metre track light in the kitchen. There seem to be quite a few places offering track lighting systems, and as far as I'm aware, they are not all compatible with each other.

Has anyone put one in before? I'd like to make sure I go with a good brand that has quality fixtures and good spots that I can put on the track.

How would they not be compatible with each other?

Also painted the nursery (still a WIP) with a motif. Still need to do one more wall and neaten up the cornices and ceiling then it's done, too. There's an eyesore of a plug switch down on the left-hand side which I will replace with a black Veti one in due course but it's not in the pic:

Hi all

Looking for ideas on how to secure my roll up garages doors. They accessible from the road and are locked by the garage motor only.

Ideas please

Thanks

I assumed that a track light fitting provided by one lighting brand would only take lights from them, etc.

So if you buy a ABC track you must buy ABC light fittings, and if you buy XYZ track you must buy XYZ light fittings.

Are you looking for a remotely operated lock? Because standard roll up door locks are readily available but would mean getting out of the car to unlock the door . Unless this is only for locking when going away for extended time periods?

Yes that's the thing, looking for something convenient and not manual. Latches or manual locks means I'll need to enter the place via the front door and enter garage via the back entrance and open locks from inside. Parking outside at night while doing that is risky as well.

Even something that just prevents the doors from being lifted can work.

What about some sort of magnetic lock type of contraption that you can remotely operate?

What is the white stuff (not silicone) that's used to cover the holes left by nails/screws in kitchen cupboards. Is it rhinolight cause it has a sandy texture just like it.

Wood filler.. made by alcolin, at least the most popular wood filler..

Came home recently to find a whole in the guest toilet basin. Unsure how but it was damaged before when something fell there .
This basin is really small and the unit it's sitting on was built for it so I can't just simply replace the basin.

Is there something I can put there to fill it temporarily or even could I fix myself? Long term solution is possibly to send to that bath tub refurbishers and hope they can do it.

And for my next trick, watch me make this washing machine pipe inlet and outlet disappear

The smarties who installed the tap didn't even bother to use screws to hold it in. They decided they aren't scared of silicone and just used it to glue it to the painted wall:cautious:. Once the plaster is dry I can prime it and then repaint when we paint the rest of the bathroom. We're putting in some nice shelves into the corner with maybe a spot for a laundry basket beneath it

An electronic lock, you will need to have the receiver for your remote unlock it, then with a small delay open the door. Locking depends on the type of electronic lock

Where can I find one of these bad boys? I guess still a risk of them bending the door to get it open.

Anything to secure bottom of the door to avoid bending and lifting?
