Look only thing I could add is, at our old complex trimming trees was a big deal. Like you had to consider birds nesting there and what not and someone posted rules around when it could happen. So I think in theory you'd need to wait till winter.
But perhaps your complex isn't as anal about animals as our old place was. Man if you had a snake that moved into your bed and you dared chase it out with a stick you'd have 5 folk on WhatsApp reprimanding you about how you should have re-homed it something.
I have no horse in the race regarding the DIY stuff but damn! That is an awesome opportunity! I'd take Spain at the drop of a hat: Ibiza, lovely weather, a hop, skip and a jump away from the Pyrenees and beautiful scenery no matter where you goEish ... looks like I may have a job overseas with a choice to choose live in either Spain, France or Portugal. To be in country of choice in 4 months. job includes relocation allowance, housing allowance in destination country for a few years, education allowance for kids, and of course the bonus being the possiblity to get an EU passport in 5-7 years - seems pretty cool but fsck to move!! (this should be it's own thread)
House definitely needs some TLC and I don't plan to sell house at least for 2 years since property prices are so bad and I need a backup plan in case it doesn't work. So plan to rent house with all the drama that entails.
1. Pool is already being refurbed - doing full marbelite replacement. They were chopping it today, and I see that this would be the 4th time marbelite is applied. Pool must be 40-50 years old - and it's so frikking deep!
2. Been on the list to replace two old wooden doors , 1 x three stacking panel and the other 1 x 2 double door. Have called Sequ-door for a site visit (Thanks @Snyper564 ) because while it was ok for us, will not be for a tenant. Hopefully it will be relatively cheap with the 40% special
3. Kitchen needs revamping - the carcasses are fine but the wood wrapping on doors are starting to peel off / get loose. We have been here 7 years and don't know how old this is, so guess it's time. Any recommendations for this in the sandton area? Thinking to put a high gloss white or something color to make the kitchen look modern.
4. Master bathroom will need to be 'updated' including domestic quarters room. Plan is to reuse the sanitary ware from the master bathroom in the domestic room making it modern in one go. Since we have never used the domestic quaters room for it's actual purpose, this would be a selling/renting point too
From an IOT POV, everything is nearly plug and remove so it should be easy except for pool pump and geysers swiches but that in itself will be a useful thing to include with the inverter system. Will probably leave the wifi since it works so well and I get new stuff for the small shack I will end up living in in the EU!

Someone mentioned setting up a google account with the house name so I use that for all smart house goodies. Esp the sonoffI’ve reverted my house to “stock” - for the same reasons. I plan on putting a timer on the pool. Setting the system to switch to grid at like 5pm. And run the pool on grid. New owners can adjust if they want to.
Only have two or three smart things still left to pull out.
Interesting.. so with inflation and whatnot, I could expect 35k or so for my 60kl..Our 120kl was around 50k odd to resurface 3 years ago. Decided to fill it, grass it and irrigated the property
I have no idea best to get quotes but I think that's a good guessInteresting.. so with inflation and whatnot, I could expect 35k or so for my 60kl..
38K which includes a solar heating panel and bladder hire. Pool is 10*6m. And bloody deep. Frightening to see how deep it is. Even the guy doing it says its deep. What's the cost for the marbelite..? My pool is in dire need too..

Then you can just give away the email address when you sell
Can I suggest you try these guys for a quote, used them before, good price and service
My house is 50 years old, the pool installed at the same time and I can see it's never been redone and it didn't help that the previous owners left it standing for years with filth and rubbish..38K which includes a solar heating panel and bladder hire. Looks like this will be the 4th Marbelite application in this pool's life. It is very apparent to see. I think this pool is as old as the house probably +40 years
That is actually quite cheap, paid R50k for fibre glass 1 year ago, similar size pool.38K which includes a solar heating panel and bladder hire. Pool is 10*6m. And bloody deep. Frightening to see how deep it is. Even the guy doing it says its deep.

What is the water like in Cape townWhat's the cost for the marbelite..? My pool is in dire need too..
So not the flex line, not the mixer cartridge, not the mixer body either.. completely disassembled everything and cleaned what little gunk was in there..
Still low pressure..
Pipe burst was a neighborhood pipe.. after that incident all hot water taps had a pressure drop, just the kitchen one that was severely affected, to the point where we wait 10 minutes to have enough lukewarm water to wash dishes with..
