Kekekek will post later zero noise very happy with install.

I am tackling the small proj now the building,plan,kitchen all next year just moving things along. also want the staking doors NOW :)
 
The doors really do transform a room. I often forget to open mine and then when I do it is really pleasant.
Mine are 6m wide x 2.5m high. 3 doors per side.

I'm finding conflicting info online, but if I install an 18000BTU Wall mounted AC unit, do I need to install an isolator if it is going to be plugged into a wall plug adjacent to the unit?

I hope that the plug is on its own circuit..

It's always recommended to have AC on an isolated circuit but it's not a requirement as far as I know if the plug point can supply the rated power.

When I bought my place it had 3 aircons all just using regular plug sockets and there wasn't any issues with the COC. I have since had the main two put on separate circuits, the third is hardly used and is a small 8A unit which is still plugged in to the wall.

Not actual professional advice :laugh:

AC must be on its own circuit breaker you cannot use a wall plug....

Did you do the COC again after you moved in..? Or just basing it on the COC registered for the sale..?

I have one 12000 BTU inverter Midea on its own plug circuit.

My other 2 x 24000 BTU units have their own cabling from the DB and isolators at the outside units.

I wouldn't put an 18000 unit on a plug.
 
Any COC that someone else provides you are dodgy imo.
I would rather use someone I know and trust and check everything with them.

COCs in general are dodgy but yep I didn't trust the electrician that did it - they had to come back to look at some things I queried when I moved in and the dude was so old he could hardly get down stairs and just had an apprentice he would send up and down.

I have since found a good local team that I use, but haven't redone a full inspection. I should probably do that.

Yeah, no.. wouldn't go by that.. sellers don't care and have the estate agency arrange these things.. estate agency have these guys at their beck and call, family friends kickbacks etc.. do the minimum to claim a somewhat legit looking COC..

When my mother sold, COC guys tried to dupe her out of a new geysers money, claiming here was leaking, showed her pictures and all.. I climbed into the roof and lo and behold, a drain pan dry as can be, no leak anywhere..
