Please don't make me look it up again.. when I had my Aircons installed I looked it up, purely to ensure when I sold, I wouldn't have to pay to get it up to code..

My research led me to 9 and 12 being fine on a plug point, but isolated circuit.. 18 and up cannot be on a plug point, but must still have an isolator no less than a meter from the outside unit..

Unfortunately, the electrician's who hooked up my Aircons didn't install plug points or isolators, so had to cough up for isolators during the COC when I sold.. this was for a 9 and 12btu units..

I recently got a quote for aircons and this is indeed what the installer confirmed. They recommended that where possible it is best practice to wire up any Aircon as though it was a large btu. But 9k and 12k btu can indeed get away with a plug point

The benefit of this is that, if ever you decide to scale up, the wiring is already done and ready (say, expanding a room or knocking down a wall, and suddenly your 12000BTU is no longer good enough)

Saw kitchen now, quite happy with it about R160-180k loads of storage great accessibility etc.

This excludes plumbing stripping removal and building the outside utility room but expected it to be about that.

This project is for May next year.

When my mother sold, COC guys tried to dupe her out of a new geysers money, claiming here was leaking, showed her pictures and all.. I climbed into the roof and lo and behold, a drain pan dry as can be, no leak anywhere..

The house we just bought had a COC despite the fact:

It has 3 geysers not 2.
It's thatch with a rod but "lightning protection" was checked no.
The POOL pump is connected directly to the incoming feed at the front wall, before the earth leakage and then run 25m bare surfix about 10cm under the flower beds.

I could go on. An electrical COC isn't worth the paper it's written on these days. If it seems safe to you, just do whatever you want.

I bought a Karcher years ago.
Load of crap.

Needed one for a painting job to pressure wash the walls, bought a little Ryobi for R1 500 on special.

It worked for 2 days non stop ~ no issues.

Meaning it ran for 10x longer than the Karcher ever did....

Long story short - he spent 3 months in the hospital and continued to “manage his guys” from his bed. I basically took over with his team to get it all done - at that stage we were still plastering, painting, screeding - so he basically became a pure conduit to pay the guys. We went our separate ways when I realised the poor quality of basically everything he physically had to do.

Crash was early last year, only found the car recently after asking his ceiling guy to show me where he stayed in Tembisa.
