Hopefully Hyundai SA learnt since they launched the I30N (R680k).
They can't offer a car that's cheaper than it's competitors the world over, but in SA it's more expensive and think SA consumers will flock to buy it.
Man, sometimes you just need to step on your brother's toes for good measure
I think nowadays it's difficult to create gaps between performance cars from the same manufacturer.

Hyundai would ‘love’ to bring new i20 N hot hatch to South Africa but
Hyundai Automotive South Africa says it would “love” to bring in the new i20 N hot hatch but admits pricing could prove a major stumbling block.
Stanley Anderson, sales and operations director at Hyundai Automotive SA, told local media that pricing would be key, pointing out the new hot hatch would be built in Turkey.
“We’re not importing any vehicles at the moment from Turkey,” he said during the local launch of the new Grand i10.
“Obviously, we’d like to expand the N range but [the i20 N] has got to be reasonably priced. We’d definitely love to bring it in – that is the intention – but [pricing] is the only challenge,” Anderson said.
Of course, Hyundai SA imports the standard i20 from India rather than Europe, with the latter continent having already moved to a new generation of the hatchback.

New Hyundai i20 hatchback: South African launch date pencilled in
Hyundai Automotive South Africa has confirmed it plans to launch the new i20 hatchback towards the middle of 2021.
Stanley Anderson, sales and operations director at Hyundai Automotive SA, told CARmag.co.za at the launch of the new Grand i10 that the Korean firm planned to introduce the third-generation i20 to local customers in “June or July 2021”.
As with the current i20, the new version will be imported from India, though it is expected to share much with the model unveiled for Europe in February 2020 (separately, Anderson talked about the chances of the i20 N hot hatch coming to South Africa).
That Euro-spec version is some 5 mm longer and 30 mm wider than its predecessor, while the roofline has been lowered by 24 mm and the wheelbase extended by 10 mm. This, says Hyundai, has resulted in more rear passenger space, while luggage capacity has improved by 25 litres to a claimed 351 litres.

Unveiled on the eve of the (ultimately cancelled) Geneva Show in March, the new latest i20 represents a fairly dramatic departure from its predecessor. Whereas the outgoing model was handsome, yet relatively plain-looking, this iteration is much more radical.
Hyundai's "Sensuous Sportiness" design language has introduced sharper styling, a lower roofline and a wider body to endow this new i20 with a more purposeful stance than it had before. The sportiest iteration of the new model we’ve seen is the recently-unveiled i20 N hot hatch, although it’s not a strong prospect for local introduction…
The i20 is longer now too, both nose-to-tail and between the axles, which should bode well for passenger- and luggage space. In the International Launch Review of the i20 (published in July), our correspondent found that rear passengers were afforded (relatively) generous legroom and a fair bit of headroom, so moderately-tall adults should be able to fit in the back. The load bay, meanwhile, offers up to 351 litres of luggage capacity.
