The ICC T20 World Cup 2016 thread

JP got some runs again and wiese got a decent knock, steyn and morris were excellent with the ball while kg and abbot had a dreadfull outing.

Mumbai again proving to be a high scoring ground.

Seems from this final warmup game that they have finally decided on qdk & hash opening with faf at 3 and ab 4.

Not sure if I'm glad that the likes of AB, Amla and Faf scored runs; or worried that our bowlers took serous tap!

I see it says Faf retired hurt. Should that be retired 'Out'? Can you retire in a 20/20 game?

You can, haven't seen it happening in anything but unofficial warmup games. Loads of players having been doing. Some scoreboards have it as retired out others as retired hurt.

He is fine.

As to bowlers getting tap. Mombai is a very very flat pitch pretty much all the warmup games have been very high scoring at that venue. Morris and Steyn did great going at under 6, the rest got spanked.

First game up, NZ will bat first! Looking forward to this tournament

0.2 Ashwin to Guptill, OUT
MJ Guptill lbw b Ashwin 6 (2b 0x4 1x6) SR: 300.00

0.1
Ashwin to Guptill, SIX, Martin Guptill you beauty! Dead straight over the bowler's head! Clean over the sightsceen! Guptill gets on the front foot and hits through the line, sweet contact

Yeah, 6 and out is not a proven tactic in this format :wtf:

Crap decision though. Didn't take long for an umpire to tarnish the contest with a poor decision. 2nd ball of the game and it's a howler!!!!

Ashwin to Guptill, OUT, Ashwin hits back and how! LBW! Guptill eschews the straight bat and tries to sweep this time, the ball from Ashwin is straight and the newness of it makes it skid straight on, umpire Dharmasena takes a while but eventually raises the finger. That looked pretty close, unless he got his pad outside the line of off stump. Will confirm. That hit the backfoot and was plumb. Whoops, on second look that was high, replays indicate it was going over the top of the stumps.

Eish, just what you need when you're playing India in India and missing a player like B-Mac.

Umpires bowing to pressure of umpiring a game involving India IN India. We miss the days of umpires like Simon Taufel. Cool as ice...
