The iOS 11 Thread/Discussion

You have to switch it off in settings.

Also if your phone restarts it switches itself back on.

Very little point to having it off on the new standards of Bluetooth.

Agreed. Just couldn't figure out why I was switching it off only for it to come back on, haha :D

Now I know.

Just frustrating when it keeps connecting to a device that you don't actually want it to connect to.

But why would you worry about that? You'd only know this if you were anally going to look at the screen of Bluetooth devices.

I occasionally use my BT in my car, but other than that I don't use it. Turned it off and I can already notice a decrease in battery drain.

Exactly. I use Bluetooth in my car in any case. And Bluetooth is also required for handoff and stuff to work. Moaning about not being able to turn off Bluetooth is like saying I want the 480p video recording option back...

Updated to 11.0.2 last night, not noticing any changes or improvements on my iPhone 7 yet.

Anyone know why Apple downloads are so slow? Trying to download the latest iOS update and its taking forever, even on my 100Mbps connection. It should be done in a couple minutes, instead it's gonna take over an hour.

As an FYI, you can also use Siri to switch it on/off or 3D Touch on Settings which gives you on/off of Bluetooth, WiFi and Cellular Data.

3d touch just gives you a shortcut to settings, i just tried it. How do u turn it off via 3d touch?

Also guys. 11.1 beta improved my battery life, considerably but its still not the same as 10.

3D Touch Settings, touch Bluetooth and toggle on/off.

Is it really that onerous or difficult?

My battery drain is still pretty bad, it's definitely a lot worse than it was before the update.

I have decided to downgrade back to iOS 10.3.3. iOS 11 is just too damn slow on my iPhone 6 (not s).
