The iPhone Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

I rate we could set up our own site instead of having this thread. It could make finding info a lot easier, plus we could set up a mini forum? Costs are not that intense, itll be something like R25 a month? Just seems like so many of you put so much effort into this thread, but its not that easy to find for most noobs out there. I could set up a nice wordpress based site up pretty quickly too, and it'll look great.
 
Someone has already set up an iPhone forum locally - cant remember the link but I think it is in this thread somewhere - what RPM could do is give the iPhone its own subforum - if you look at the stats on this thread, it far outweighs any other phone.
 
i think we could beat any local iphone based site, we have the knowledge and information, plus i could get us high on the rankings :D

Hi.

My boets iphone doesn't boot up. It just seems to loop on startup apple logo. Tried to hold power & home buttons to get into ???? mode. Any suggestions?
 
Managed to get into restore mode in itunes, but the problem is he needs to get some notes off the phone. Is there a work around?
 
had my phone for a week, it too suddenly refused to boot up properly. tried soft reset, hard reset, would occasionally boot, but then not find the vodacom network. took it to vodacare and it is now lying on some operating table somewhere in midrand hopefully receiving life saving surgery. not at all happy that a week old phone can just pack up!

Did he not do a recent backup?

You going to have to do a firmware restore to the phone and get then restore your backup..
 
ok, so my Iphone has started doing random resets? It boots up fine, then askes for my pin. then gets no signal. Then 5mins later itll ask for my pin again, again no signal. Then it resets and repeats the above. I just restored it, can't see that theres anything different. Anyone know what could be the problem?

That is weird.. Try turning SIM pin off and see if it still gives you problems.. (obviously this isnt a permanant fix but see if that is causing problems, in which case it could be a faulty SIM)
