Thanks, will download pdanet, actually downloaded iphone tunnel and it works perfectly!

Yeah, got the ad hoc working aswel..

Thanks for the help!

i know iphone tunnel works, but, pdanet installs the app on the phone, and then, to connect to the net, you plug the phone in, and click connect on the laptop and you're done, no ssh setup etc. needed of any kind

and when you use the pdanet over wifi, you don't even have to connect anything, you turn the phone's wifi on, and the internet connection happens automatically via wifi, the phone quite literally turns into a wifi hotspot

A word of caution to 10.5.6 users wanting to apply the DFU "fix"' for pwnage tool... It will allow you to pwn your iPhone but your USB port may become unstable and cause OSX to crash, this is what happened to me luckily my user account is on a separate partition so I was able to reinstall OSX and not lose a thing.

Thx for the warning Aqua. So where exactly is the problem? With iTunes or Quickpwn? Is this relating to the new FW and how do you get around it? Thx

I see they have released a new app on cydia called clear shot, now you can take 4mp pictures with your iphone. It takes 4 photos in rapid succession and then blend it to create a 4mp photo. Looks pretty awesome

The problem is the latest USBIO driver that comes with 10.5.6, this prevents DFU mode and the "fix" is to download and install a 10.5.5 driver, this can be problematic for some macs.

To get around this you can either find a way to restore the 10.5.6 driver after pwning but if you want to be safe just use Windows to pwn instead.

Thanks for the heads up, this will require a steady hand I guess.

Well I tried it last night, and it works well, even if you shake a bit. It has a 15 day trail, so I am thoroughly going to test it

Just downloaded it - does improve the difference. Just takes a while to take all the shots

Doesn't seem particularly robust, goes into an "endless" click loop (sounds like a galloping horse) and then hangs :(

It will generate the plist files for you after you have filled in the required SP information.

Ah yes, I remeber looking at that, but did not use it, it was a lot easier just using the vodacom template and getting the mmc and mnc values, that is the most important part, as well as getting the sym links established to the new carrier info

Ok. I am on MTN at the moment but will be porting to Vodacom soon (company phone). You mentioned that the MTN logo scrolls? Mine says MTN-SA and does not scroll. I remember the 1.x days where you had like 4 characters followed by .... which was annoying.

Yip, my mtn-sa logo scrolls a bit to the left then back again, then adjusts (and I hate that damn logo). I think I am just a sucker for skinning, so I am trying all kinds of new things with the phone. And thank the heavens for the little miracle called winterboard, it is a dream. Basically on most things you can to skin (seeing as almost everything is png files), all you do is go to the themes directory, create a new folder, rename it to what you want, in in there you create the directory sctructure of the png you want to change, things like app icons, anything, and in winterboard you tick the name of your new theme, and bam, skinned (well its a simplified explanation)

Sounds cool. Some people have reported slow downs and stability issues with themes, have you had any issues?

Nope not really, can't say that I have, but I mostly only use icons and then a cool wallpaper, nothing much more than that

Why not then just get irealsms? I have never worked with bite, what does that have that is not in ireal?
