Damn archive was corrupt! Just re-downloading the beta 3 .IPSW and WILL be trying the iUtilities method to activate (posted in my previous posts).

iBurst is going damn slow, so 250MB will take a while...

Will post back to CONFIRM that the iUtlities method works 100% or not...
 
I can confirm that the iUtilities method does work. I changed back to 2.2.1 as I need to use biteSMS..... But was worth the trial today...

Did you do the quickpwn step? i.e. does it need to be pwned before iUtilities will work?

Edit: Looks like you do need to jailbreak.

Well I am up and running on OS 3.0 beta 3. So far so good. The cut and paste is very cool. The global search is quite nice. The additional messaging functions (forward, individual delete) work well.

I cannot wait for OS 3!!

Mind you, I love my iPhone with OS 2.2 and a gelaskin slapped on the back. :)

any word on battery life?? according to Limnos it's radically reduced by 3.0, I haven't noticed this :(

Too early to tell, but so far its fine. I have wifi, 3G and BT on. Will try not to dock it for the next day or so and see how long it lasts.
 
Music not synching!!

I've never had this problem before but when i wanna sync my mp3s to my phone it says that the files are not supported by my iphone. I've rebooted my phone and created a new playist but i still get that message. Anyone else here exp this?

you've probably got a wma file somewhere in the playlist....

try the "manually manage music", and then drag the songs to the device (not the playlist, the songs from your music library), it should tell you which one of the files it has a problem with
 
Hmm, i get the message that it cannot be played on my phone and it was mp3s that i tried dragging to the device. I'm currently searching online but nothing helpful yet

it should give you the option to expand the error to see which files are causing the problem, i still think it would only be one of the files
 
No i did each song individually. But when i do it in a batch it lists ALL my tunes that can't be copied. Not such a lot though, just loading 38 tunes

hmm... all i can suggest, export your itunes music library, completely uninstall itunes, then reinstall, and import...

other than that, really wierd issue u got here....
 
I stumbled upon this new backup util for the iphone. It looks pretty cool, unfortunatel yI am limited in hdd space so I could not backup my entire phone.

It backs up cydia source list, apps list (like apt), as well as all winterboard themes and so on, to your hard drive.

Its called iSafeCopy, and is currently in beta stage (unfortunately its only for windows, phew lucky I have windows)
