Orb Live

I don't know if anyone has had a look at this yet, but it is extremely cool.

You download Orb to your PC and then the app Orb Live to your iPhone. You create an account with them, and it checks out your media on your PC (not sure if I set it up right - doesn't see my external hard drive with most of my media on).

What it does, it broadcasts your PC media to your phone live, i.e. if you have a TV Tuner card, you can watch that on your iPhone through this app.

Also, you get to see what photos, videos etc your have in your default folders (My Videos etc) on your PC, on your iPhone. And you can access your Webcam.

I just tried it with my Webcam, very cool! About a 5 second delay from live, but still very impressive.

I don't have a TV Tuner card, so maybe someone who has can give it a try and let is know.

Cool... I have a tuner card I'll check this out.
 
Maybe you can have a look around if you can figure out how to set it to see external hard drives?

Edit - Ok, this is easy. Once installed on your PC, it puts and icon on the bottom right of your screen, next to time etc. Right click, click on Configuration. There are all the options of which folders to view.:D

You will be able to tell by looking at the serial number - if the 4th to 5th numbers are 46 or above

Can I assume we are now generally able to unlock any version?
Does anyone know if there are problems specific to iPhones bought in East Asia.....Cambodia, china, etc?
And has anyone come across the Chinese (?) hiPhone knockoff?
 
Hi, as far as I know you can unlock any version with Ziphone, Liberty+ or WinPwn. Just hear what our pros say.

My brother bought his in Hong Kong but they sell them allready unlocked.

If you have a genuine iPhone then do a restore to the latest firmware (1.1.4) using iTunes before unlocking. *very important*

After that use Pwnage and a Tutorial to unlock.

When I try and go to that directory, when I right click, I dont get the common tab?

This is regarding the setting of permissions in Books.

Sounds like a windows problem if i understand you correctly..

Have u tried rebooting the PC? Can you right click on another folder and it works?
 
Thx fxit. I went into properties and changed the permissions to 0755 but still nothing.

Just a question, will firmware v2 be unlocked with WinPwn when it's released? When do they think it will be released.

Just read on sleepers.net about all the Apps that wont work, its a huge list and includes many such as BossPrefs, MobileFinder etc. What do you guys think will happen to these apps, as this will prevent us from using Swirly and many more!
 
The new 3g iphone is such a let down!

Still no MMS and video recording. It doesnt even have the camera in the front. After all that hype and excitement!
 
hmmm regardless of the price I am dissapointed in the 2MP camera they still kept. Should have been a 5MP in my opinion and I would have paid $50 more to have it.

Sold more than 50 of the first gen. Iphone in SA and ALL of my clients were upset with the poor camera quality.

You have to agree that they could have done better on that part fxit_man...
 
In SDK you will have to pay for that stuff in the App Store surely?

$200 subject to 2 year AT&T contract and instore activation. Wonder what Vidacom is going to do seeing as they are bringing it in.

Edit - so its official, according to appleiphoneschool Jobs says we will have it before the end of the year. Finally!
will this mean iTunes store will work for us as well, do you think?

Ziphone is very bad and if you use it you should be ashamed ;)

do i just follow it nothing extra?

I recommend you do a clean 1.1.4 restore using iTunes first anyway so this will erase everything, so sync everything including contacts to your mac first before using pwnage.

Ziphone is bad because Pwnage does a better job, you only use pwnage once and then after that you just build custom IPSW's so you can restore in iTunes without locking your iPhone. i.e you will never lock your iPhone again but it's also reversible.

Secondly because Zibri stole most of the credit with Ziphone... he never shared the donations he received with those who deserved it.

And because Pwnage is built by the original Dev team ;)
