Don't see how that could be affecting battery life if its not in use = but yea!! I am uninstalling it anyway - don't like hacked apps!

yea me neither, but just since i installed it battery life is worse. Gonna leave it on for now, just did a full recharge on AC power, then will see how long it lasts. Then will uninstall it and see the difference.

The one thing that put me off tomtom (ok it was the hacked version), was that it was not accurate, was out with about 300m, so I forked out the cash and got the navigon, and that is spot on (and the maps are prettier especially the 3d POI's)

is there a user community that maintains poi's for navigon? specifically traffic cameras etc?

k so either my iPhone no longer has the prob or my battery meter is broke!
cause my iPhone has been on for 1:30 hours and its still on 100% with 3 mins of cydia usage!

UPDATE: Been on for 2:40 hours with no activity and on 99% battery!! Maybe my battery problems are over :)

Will leave it on overnight with no charge and see what its like :)

UPDATE2: Been on for 3:30 hours with no activity and on 99% battery!!

battery usage on any device is always a bit shady for the first couple of charges

i'd suggest you stop keeping such a close eye on it and just use the phone, you'll soon get used to the fact that iphone's need juice more often than other phones, deal with it

I also desperately need a car mount/charger for my iPhone too now. I am trying to hold out for Navigon's cradle which should be launched next month - it just looks soooooo awesome (and supports portrait and landscape mode).

I see TomTom has also revealed pricing for their cradle - $120. Actually a little pricey!!

check out www.dension.com

look at the gateway 100 and gateway 500 product range, the active cradle is a brilliant mount for the iphone, and the whole thing integrates with your car stereo like a cd player, so the radio controls (and steering multimedia controls) work on your phone

the active cradle also rotates if you don't put the rubber O ring in, which is what i've done with mine

currently there is an issue with charging the 3Gs, but it looks like a software snag, because the phone does sometimes charge, I've tested 3G though, and that works fine

I've got an iPhone 3G 16GB, and I've got the chance to upgrade to the 3Gs for about R150-R200, Is it really worth the upgrade, has anybody here upgraded from a 3G to a 3Gs ? Is it a worthy upgrade? Another bonus is that next year I won't have to put a lot of extra money into getting the new one...

i have

WELL worth it

I am sorry but when you play a 5 hour game of paintball starting with 100% battery and finishing with it 100% DEAD you tend to worry a bit! But alas, it is all fixed now.. dont know how though:o

Actually looks pretty cool. Expensive?

Actually looks pretty cool. Expensive?

it's very cool, integrates with your cars' menu systems, text display, the works

if you get:

cradle
gateway 100 unit
cd changer retention kit
bluetooth add on (includes stereo bluetooth and handsfree interfaces)

you're looking at about 5k, take off more or less 1 k per item not needed

love mine, it gets a bit confused with the bluetooth and dock connecter audio sometimes, but fixed at the press of a button

Wow!! Does sound pretty impressive!! A bit overboard for me though. Think I'll just get a cradle and charger for now :D
Maybe one day ;)

Anybody know about a simple rainfall log app for the iPhone? All I want to do is record rainfall by date. A quick AppStore and Google search yielded nothing.....

Let me know if you find one, I have been looking as well! (24mm since Friday in DBN)

Does anyone know of a good task manager? so I can switch between apps while leaving the other open?

Don't like my Speck CandyShell anymore - it makes the phone way too bulky.. Any one recommend any new slimmer ones??
