Ok, i found the new pwnage tool and i have the ipsw.
Do appulous/hackulous still work on the new 3.1 jailbreak?

Hey fx, pwnage tool is out there for 3Gs 3.1, just check dev team blog

essentially there needs to be 4, I only want 1, these 4 are

3Gs pwned and baseband upgrade removed for those with locked Phones,
3Gs pwned and new baseband included for those with unlocked phones,
3G pwned and baseband upgrade removed for those with locked phones,
3G pwned and new baseband included for those with unlocked phones

You actually only need to do 3Gs, as latest redsn0w will support 3G, 3Gs can only be done with pwnage ;(

quick q, I have 3.1 from apple already on my unlocked 3Gs, do I need to downgrade and jailbreak before applying pwned 3.1? According to dev team, apple 3.1 won't restore to pwned 3.1?

sadly you're stuck for now. no downgrade method available yet afaik.

About to use pwnage on my 3gs hopefully it will go smoothly (currently on 3.01 pwnd)

the question was if i can restore from apple 3.1 to pwned 3.1 if i don't mind the baseband upgrade

i'm not stuck, have shsh blobs on file with cydia, so i can downgrade, just don't really want to, too much schlep :( but thinking i might have to

rumor has it that 3.1 3gs is jailbreakable though, possilbe compatible redsn0w in development, "no tested solution at the moment" though

3.1 3gs is jailbroken, i'm about to install it using the new pwnage tool.
Just made a custom ipsw.

If your shsh was captured by cydia you can downgrade (some folks weren't so lucky), you will have to if you want to install 3gs 3.1 jailbroken because current pwnage tool ONLY upgrades 3.0 or 3.01 jailbroken 3gs

the custom ipsw is still installed to the phone with itunes right?

any chance you could upload that ipsw somewhere for me? busy downgrading to 3.0 as we speak....

yep, itunes does the trick (alt+restore on a mac)
just installed and it's fin, but hackulous is no more, so i can't use all those apps anymore. oh well.

I can upload the ipsw, but don't have a local host if thats what you need.

do you have somewhere you can upload?

ps, hackulous is gone, so if you need appsync add this repo to cydia

please, want the ipsw... now that i'm on 3.0 i need 3.1 pwned so i can restore my phone backup, want my sms' back :)

just asked out of curiosity

i already have the new baseband seeing as i went 3.1 then downgraded, so makes no diffs to me.... great to be jailbroken again... yay lol
 
a warning - when building a custom ipsw - use expert mode in pwnage tool and UNCHECK 'activate phone' if you already have an unlocked phone - before building the ipsw, if you don't do this you may have no signal after restoring. verified the hard way.
