don't know what RS is, but, yes, should be ok... anywhere i can download from would make me smile

basically need
iPhone 3G (iphone_1,2)
OS 3.1.2
vodacom phone, so can include new baseband, I don't mind (prefer it actually)
activate unchecked - want to activate with iTunes to retain push

Just busy building your ipsw. PwnageTool doesn't give me the option to enable baseband update - as it's greyed out - but this shouldn't be an issue for you since you are already on 3.1.2 and running 05.11.07.

Cool - but can't test it - and will only upload once I have completed uploading iPhone1,2_3.1.2

Just completed a test with a iPhone 3G and it works. I put it unto DFU mode using PwnageTool in order to get the white DFU screen. Not sure how you will do it in Windows, I know fxit posted how to do a few pages back though. Note, this is only if it gives u an error when you put it into DFU mode yourself. Busy uploading the 5 rar parts now to RS.

So are people seeing a definite memory and speed advantage going to 3.1.2? Of course, this is only for 3G users not you @#$%@#$%!@#$% 3GS users

mmm, it's seems that if you select "UNACTIVATE" in pwnageTool 3.1.4, it will create a custom firmware that will update your baseband to 05.... I can't run pwnageTool because I dont have a mac, but is it possible to leave "ACTIVATE" unchecked, and also uncheck the "ENABLE BASEBAND UPDATE"...

Those screenies are taken from old versions of PwnageTools. PwnageTool no longer allows you to enable base band. It's greyed out. I've made your Custom Firmware with Activate Unchecked as you requested. Shouldn't that work?! Then you activate with your AT&T sim?!?
