Have you set your APN for 3G yet?
Go settings> general> network> cellular data network> set the APN as "internet"

Yes, just confirm that you know the following for your router:
SSID.
WPA passkey.
If you have this then I can help you.

Go settings> Wi-Fi> switch on> choose a network that uses your SSID or choose "other" then...
Name = type in SSID
Security = choose WPA
Password = type in WPA key(use capital letters)
Click Join

Is your router connected to the internet? type in 10.0.0.2 in the safari addressbar on the iphone, then login using the name and pass "admin" and then connect your router to the internet.
My router is fine... I'm using it with my computer.

Then see if 10.0.0.2 works on safari.

Then there should not be a problem, just follow the steps above including APN slowly maybe you missed something?
Also turn off wifi to test if 3G works properly.

pookster are connected wirelessly to your PC? does not make sense you can access 10.0.0.2 on the phone but nothing else!?!??! ... you are getting your routers login screen when u do this right?

That means that your PC is using PPPOE, you router is not connected to the internet just allowing devices to use the ADSL line. You need to enter your telkom account settings there and connect the router.
