Ok, started WinPwn, it had to go into recovery mode, and iTunes (which I forgot was open) saw it and recognised it in recovery mode. But then it restarted doing its winpwn thing, and gave me that error again.

How do I stop iTunes starting up when my phone is connected? It seems to hang the Winpwn at the bit where it goes from 'iPhone left recovery mode' to 'iPhone connected'.

THx

That does not make me feel better!!
But hell, what else can I do?

Just try to enter DFU(use liberty+ if you habing a hard time getting DFU mode)

I've had moments where my iPhone could not boot or be detected by iTunes but by trying to enter DFU I fixed it.

Kill the "iTunesHelper" process using Task Manager
Right click Taskbar> select Task Manager > under processes tab look for it and end the process.

Its not that hard to get it into DFU mode...

Make sure you iPhone is on.

Hold the power and home buttons down (the iPhone will power off after 10 seconds, but keep holding those buttons down)

After the iPhone powers off, release the power button (but keep holding the home button down)

After a couple more seconds, you should hear that magical “ding dong” that means the iPhone is coming back alive, and that Windows has detected it.

It is now safe to release the home button, and your iPhone is in DFU mode.

Now iTunes will see it as a DFU’ed iPhone and should ask you to automatically restore its firmware.

Ok, it still gets stuck at that specific point, between iPhone has left recovery mode and your iPhone has been Pwned.

Any ideas?

I don't know iLiberty, should I try Ziphone?

Seeing as my phone has been pwned before, can I just skip the iPwner step and go to IPSW Builder?

Yip, using iClarified.

When it's pwned then you just need to restore in iTunes.

Ziphone wont help you, the unlocking that pwnage does is different and safer, you'll just create more problems using Ziphone.

Pwnage does not activate your iPhone(you only need to run it once to allow pwned firmware) it creates a firmware for you that allows itunes to activate your iPhone.

Dobee, seeing as it was pwned this morning, can I just go ahead do IPSW Builder?

Yes
YOU ONLY USE PWNAGE ONCE! it's not like ziphone were you need to run it each time.
You unlock using the firmware your create with iTunes to restore it for you.

Follow a tutorial on how to make a IPSW then restore it in iTunes

I do it, but it doesn't give me the message 'Your iPhone has been pwned', which I got when I did it this morning?

It stops after 'iPhone leaving recovery mode'. The phone then leaves recovery mode and starts up again.

Just FYI, I used WinPwn, and all is well.

Thx very much for the help!

Hello All and Happy Holiday.
I have enjoyed reading these posts today and thought this forum might be the place for posting my delima. Also, I did do a search beforehand but what I found really didn't answer all my questions ;)
So, I have an iPhone unlocked, etc running 1.1.4 and want to add a symbolic link so I don't get the dreaded "Low Disk Space" error.
(I have done a restore recently and have basic apps only).

My question is: Where should I make this link to allow more room for apps without causing all the problems I have been reading about with Boss Tools? (Sorry Big Boss)

At this point I am using 274mb out of 300mb after a restore. Sound right?

Thanks in advance all.

Hi there..

Go to Installer, All Packages and install "Boss Tool".

Open the app, select "Free Disk Space" and move Font, Ringtones, and Apps in order..

Hope that sorts u out..

Disk Space + Boss Tools

Hey Fxit_Man,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I was actually hoping to avoid Boss Tools completely as 90% of the comments I have seen on the web (I'v been searching for some time) are to avoid this App.
Some have problems with apps diappearing of springboard, crashes, and worse, stuck with spinning wheel with itunes not recognizing the iphone.
These may just be a result of missteps on the person installing it but didn't want to take the chance.
If I did install now and Don't move ringtones, wallpaper, etc. will the apps I install afterword use the larger partition ?
Does BossTools just create a simlink?
Any help in my understanding is appreciated.

Hi.

Just want to hear if anyone has tried iToday or Intelliscreen, and what are your opinions?

Bosstools is safe.

I've never had a problem with it before, just move fonts and ringtones first, leave the apps for last.

You say you recently restored? well if boss tools fails you can easily just do a restore again, I'm sure the comments you've read about bosstools are outdated anyway.
